    XBox One Latency Issues

I'm trying to figure out why the latency on my Xbox One is so astronomically high compared to some of my nearby friends when pinging the Xbox Live server in Seattle. I live in North Dakota which is roughly 1500 miles away from the servers. My PC pings to
Seattle area servers in about 70ms, and my friend who lives down the street is able to ping with his Xbox One and get 85-90. My Xbox, however, pings at around 210-215ms. Why in the world is it soo much higher? I have tried setting the Xbox as the DMZ on my
router, and it makes no difference...

    :)

  2. Detailed Network Stats

the xbox one latency issues are quite obvious with the current results im seeing posted. Hopefully this is patched soon but people want to be mainly around 80ms on latency or lower...next gen with old original xbox latency...nice.

    Xbox One Latency Issues

I bought my Xbox about 2 years ago. No matter what network I'm using, wired or wireless, the latency has never been below 130ms.

-I've been several locations across the world. The same problem, even in the US.

-I've tried using better ethernet cables.

-I've tried contacting my ISP (Its not them, because all other devices have lower ping).

-I've tried isolating the Xbox on the network.

I can't identify the issue. Additionally, 2 Xbox one consoles were connected to the same network. 1 of them is normal (40-66ms or lower). But mine is really bad, even for wired connectivity. I've also tried isolating this Xbox in this case, but it's still
    the same 155ms.

Did I buy a defective model? Is it bugged? Is it a network adapter issue?

Please help, it sucks getting killed before I even see the enemy in FPS. I really really really don't like this Xbox. No other Xbox I know is this bad.

  5. The latency shows in the network tab is not an accurate representation of latency on the console and should not be seen like that.

Should you however experience a lot of latency in game it's best to do some networktroubleshooting.

If you experience a lot of in game latency can you please fill out the following list as accurate as possible ? Just copy paste it in a new message and enter your info behind it

What Country/State/Province do you live in?

    Modem brand & model number:

    Router brand & model number:

How many Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles are connected to this router?:

Wired or Wireless (for each console):

    Things you have tried:

    Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/No/Unknown:

Do you have a NAT error? If so, what is your NAT type?:

    Any Error Codes you encounter:

Who is your ISP? (Internet Service Provider):

Since you both have an open NAT and the same ISP could you go to
    http://www.speedtest.net/
and see what your latency is right there ?

On both your Xbox One and PC

    Greetings TheStew Pidasso!

If you haven't already then I would suggest that you start a fresh new thread with a detailed description of your situation, along with any troubleshooting steps you have tried so far.

Appreciate if you can also provide the outcome from
    pingtest.net
and change the location of the testserver to a server located in Seattle, WA, so you don't try and run the default settings, which is a test based on best ping.

    Thanks!

  11. Problem taken care of!! Called and canceled my service with midcontenent communications. New ISP going to be hooked up tomorrow. However I turned in my wifi on iPhone 6 and enjoyed 6 hrs of lag free call of duty tonight. I had strict NAT but, Latency of
    135. Not bad for cell service. You go AT&T !! And Midco kept blaming Xbox , shame on you.

Good luck with your new ISP, and I hope this new ISP can provide a better service.

  13. XBox One Latency Issues

Well new isp was great for about a month. Now once again I'm plagued with high latency, however now it ranges between 400-1000!!! I swear it's taking everything I have to not beat this thing into pieces!! Now what do I try? There are only two Internet provides
where I live and I've used both. It's almost like my xbox has a virus that gives you high latency after so many hours of play so you snap and go crazy. Then they say he went violent because of all the violence in the games he plays.

On your computer, if you where to go to pingtest.net and have the location to a test server changed from default settings, which are based on best ping, to a server located in Seattle, WA (US), and have us know the outcome of this test.

Can you also tell us if your ISP are using some sort of dataplan, where your bandwidth is being throttled/restricted, if you peak out for how much you are able to download on a monthly basis.

Do you also see this high delay from the matchmaking process when playing multiplayer games? Where one of the steps in the matchmaking process is to try and find you games based on best ping. That is, if the process chooses to show your current delay.

  15. If on computer and ping Washington I ping at 88, my isp is unlimited. It's not the fastest only up to 30mbps den and 5 up. I kept testing latency on Xbox one last night and finally about midnight to 1am it slowly dropped to normal latency of 81-87. At this
point was to tired to play more than one game. Figured that whatever was going on was fixed.

Well I just tried to log in tonight and BAM..... Latency in the 400's again!!??
