Xbox One Lag Issues (Controller Update)

Skunkable I do believe if you update your controller it should fix that issue I had a lag issue with my controller then I updated it and it fixed itself so I would try that

Its been reported that the April update has caused some controllers to malfunction.

Reports of drifting, lagging by moving in certain directions and pressing of buttons are among the issues. Newer controllers have been working fine and then essentially bricked by the update.

Support recommends doing a power cycle and then unplugging the Xbox One from the power for 5 minutes. Afterward powering on the console via the controller.

If you are experiencing right stick input lag on your Xbox Elite controller when exiting games back to the Home Screen, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Update the controller firmware: Make sure your controller is running the latest firmware. To check for updates, go to the Xbox Accessories app, select your controller, and click on "Device info". If an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

Check controller settings: Make sure the right stick sensitivity and dead zones are set correctly in the Xbox Accessories app. You may also want to try adjusting the stick response curves to see if that improves the input lag.

Try a different USB port: If you are using a wired connection, try plugging the controller into a different USB port on your Xbox or PC. This can sometimes fix input lag issues.

Reset the controller: Try resetting the controller by pressing the small button on the back of the controller near the USB port with a paperclip or other small object. This will reset the controller's connection to your Xbox or PC.

Test with a different controller: If you have access to another controller, try using it to see if the input lag issue persists. This can help you determine if the problem is with the controller or with your Xbox or PC.

If none of these solutions work, you may want to contact Xbox support for further assistance. It's possible that there is a software bug or hardware issue with your controller that requires a repair or replacement.

I was experiencing similar lag with my X1 until the February system update. In February, a new firmware for the controllers was added that seemed to greatly reduce this lag. (Input delay)

The controller firmware does not update automatically. You have to go into the settings and launch the update yourself. (You will have to connect any controllers you have with a cable, one by one, for it to work)

Try this and see if the issue clears

To download the update, connect a controller to your Xbox One with a USB cable. Keep any headsets connected to the controller. Connect to Xbox Live. Press the
Menu. Go to Settings > Devices & accessories and select the
controller. If you have multiple controllers attached, you can select Buzz – which will cause the selected controller to vibrate. Then select
Update to download the new firmware to the controller attached via the USB cable, and the screen will show the Updating controller … progress screen. When you see the Controller updated screen, press ‘B’ to go back to the Devices & accessories main page.
Reselect the controller. The Firmware version should now be: 1.2.2236.0
