Xbox One Kinect

Sooo,

Other than my voice commands, has support for Kinect pretty much gone away? Super happy I bought at release.... I thought, well if you have to get a kinect they must have plans for. I am pretty sure Microsoft originally had no plans of selling the xbox without
a kinect... I didnt see any mention of it with the new models that came out. Guess I have a $150 paperweight? Kind of like when I bought my Zune, and my zune pass...

Microsoft - always leading me along just to disappoint me in the end.

Kinect types and versions

As far as i am aware there is kinect for xbox 360 and kinect for xbox one. I refer to mine as a day one kinect for xbone and assume others refer to v2 as kinect for xbox one rather than 360. Afaik the original kinect released with xbone is the current version

The xbox s doesn't come with a kinnect port, you need an adapter.

You can use it as a camera for Skype or as a camera to record videos or to film your self doing game reviews on the DVR.

 

xbox is trying to keep its money tight. besides no one making any games for kinect. not even trying to make backwards compadatable. they can do it. zomba and rock band hell dance central is the reason 360 evolved

 

Once the update comes that adds Cortana comes, the Kinect will virtually be useless unless you Skype. You can do all the voice commands with a headset now.

 

^^Yes, but not everyone wears or wants to wear a headset when gaming. The Kinect is handy for that.

^ Another reason VR will fail like the kinect. Not everyone is gonna wanna wear that.

 

My money says kinect will be used with an oculus vr headset...after or when scorpio box is released.

 

^^ There is potential there for it to add to the immersion.

 

That would be cool if it is somehow integrated with VR. It just gets frustrating buying into things that are new. I know that's true with any product, but early adopters get *** the most in my opinion. They talk about generation cycles, but the S and Scorpio
are still part of the same gen cycle, yet I'll end up shelling out more cash to keep up with the tech... it's similar to what PC gamers go through I suppose.

 

I think they are trying to say the Scorpio is part of the One family so people don't feel alienated. It's a new generation.
