Xbox One kinect original voice commands are not working on Hulu or Netflix

I am using Kinect with the original voice commands (not Cortana) and I can pause the videos fine: (" xbox, Pause!") and the machine responds fine, but "xbox select" does confirm the select command,but no longer displays options, and the "xbox Play!" command
does not play, iit responds with 'Play' not available here. i am very frustrated, i know the kinect works, i can navigate the home menu, and turn the console on and off fine, but media based commands are gone and i refuse to use Cortana as i do not like the
lag from making a client to host packet trip for every command.

next episode/play video voice commands missing

the Xbox one version on Netflix and Hulu plus do not have a next episode/play video voice command like they do on Xbox 360.

I already complained to Hulu and Netflix but I wonder if this is some new stupid forced limitation Xbox is putting on developers. Seems like a strange downgrade as those were pretty much my favorite voice commands.

Also, anyone find it ironic that the Hulu XO app now looks like the Netflix 360 app? And the Netflix XO app now looks like the Hulu 360 app...

Personally I liked the new Netflix like gui from 360 and was stoked to see Hulu on XO use a similar design.

 

Is Kinect not supported on the Xbox 360 any more?

I have recently acquired an Xbox 360 and a Kinect - everything seems to work fine and voice commands are recognised on the dash and in the Amazon & Wuaki apps. But nothing happens when I try voice commands in Netflix - there's no
command list and no response to Xbox play/pause. Is this a fault or does the Xbox 360 Netflix app not support Kinect any more?

 

p.s. i have checked Hulu's support pages, they refer me here; they are not even showing a support method for this issue, which has been on going for over a month now. Older threads about this seem inconclusive, can I please have a solution?

Currently there is no voice command support for the two apps listed in your post on Xbox One. Since this is by design from the developer of the two apps, I would recommend reaching
out to the developer of each app if you would like to inquire further or provide feedback.

Well that is highly disappointing since they were certainly supported in the past, and certain commands still operate. I have reached out to the developers, but its a shame that Microsoft cannot enforce or encourage their developers to implement features
that were a prime selling point of their hardware.
