    Xbox One Kinect Not Showing Connected in Settings


    I use the Kinect for Windows Adapter to extend the connection between Kinect and Xbox One. Fairly recently (within the last 6 months) the Kinect no longer shows the video or any calibration options in Settings > Kinect. Just shows blank saying the Kinect
    isn't connected, etc. Without the adapter, the video shows up fine in Settings. With the adapter, it appears to work just fine in other apps (games, Skype, speech commands, etc). It worked for months in Settings prior to this happening. I can only assume
    this happened as a result of some update in recent past.

    Anyone know anything about this?

    Not sure why it's not showing up in the Kinect settings. Though it's probably just because it's not connected to the proprietary port. Maybe a firmware update could fix it but whether it's a big enough issue, or they really know about it is another matter.

    All I can suggest is you move your console to within reach of the Kinect and do the mic setup with it connected to the proprietary port. That should calibrate it for when it's connected via the adapter.

    Issues after today's update (11/23/15)

    Since my Xbox One updated this morning my Kinect no longer works (it's plugged in and I went through the kinect troubleshooting steps on the forums), and I also noticed my TV and surround sound no longer turns on and off with the console. I double checked
    the settings everything is still saved in the devices. Also for the kinect is not showing any picture in the settings.

    Cannot Configure Connect Sensor

    If you haven’t connected to Xbox Live recently, your Xbox One console may need an update. To update your console, connect to Xbox Live by using a wired or wireless connection.

    When your console is connected to Xbox Live, available updates are automatically installed. After the updates are installed, test your Kinect sensor and try these steps again if necessary.

    If you didn’t have your Kinect sensor plugged in when your console took an update, follow these steps to update your sensor:

    Scroll left from the Home screen to open the guide.

    Select Settings.

    Select All Settings.

    Select Kinect & devices.

    Select Kinect.

    Verify that Kinect on is selected.

    For you Kinect supporters, Why must the kinect be connected to the xbox one at all times for the developers to utilize the full benefits of the kinect? why cant they utilize the full benefits of the kinect while it is not connected to the xbox one?.

    The reasoning or the suggestion of the kinect having to be connected to the xbox one at all times while the xbox one is on so the developers can fully utilize the full benfits of the kinect falls flat on it's backside.

    There is no logic or reasonable thinking nor is there an anwser you Kinect supporters have said.
