  1. Xbox One Kinect Model 1595 IR Emitters

I have a day one Kinect model 1520 and a just purchased a second kinect model 1595. On the 1520 there are 3 IR emitters red lights however on the 1595 there are only 2 lit up. Is this correct or is one of the IR emitters faulty on my new kinect?

    :)

Can the Media Remote control my audio receiver WITHOUT a Kinect?

    Hey there T Destroy3r!

It is possible to use your Xbox One Media Remote with your Xbox One console without having a Kinect. In order to control volume on your receiver you will need to have an IR blaster that connects via 3.5 mm cable and has 3 or fewer emitters. For more info,
check out our Xbox One Media Remote and IR Extension Cable support
    articles.

Hope that helps! Xbox One Kinect Model 1595 IR Emitters :D

  3. Kinect model 1595 v 1520

Has anybody any confirmed information regarding performance about the hardware changes between the Kinect model 1520 (three visible LED's) and the model 1595 (two visible LED's)?

    Thanks

Xbox One Kinect Model 1595 IR Emitters

It appears the 1595 model has two IR emitters. I searched around and found two different discussions about this who confirmed there are only two. I ordered two factory sealed units off Amazon 1/2018 and they both had two IR emitters.
It would be nice if Microsoft published changes in their support material so we don't think the unit is defective.

    A/V power options

EDIT: You could get an IR extension cable: https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/oneguide-live-tv/use-external-ir-with-xbox-one

    Original Post:

The Xbox One S and X models have the Infrared Blaster built in, as Microsoft decided to make Kinect an optional accessory.

Since the original Xbox One initially came bundled with Kinect, the console didn't need an additional IR Blaster built in. The Kinect had an IR emitter already for the depth measuring, so it made sense to put the IR blaster into Kinect.

So without Kinect, the original Xbox One can't control your A/V equipment.

Controlling your TV with the Xbox One X

The Xbox One X has an IR-emitter built into the front of the console (near the disc eject button), or it can use the Kinect. If either device is being obstructed by any objects, or not in a position where the IR light might not reach
the TV, the signal may not work.

    If you used a
    separate IR-emitter
with your original Xbox One, you can try using that with the Xbox One X. If you used a Kinect to control your TV, you will need to get a

    Kinect adapter
in order to plug it into the Xbox One X.

Xbox one unable to select any channels

The Xbox One changes channels on your cable box (or whatever) using the same method as your remote control: sending an IR signal. Either the IR codeset you chose during Xbox setup (by entering the make/model of your cable box) is wrong--in which case make
sure you entered correct info and try other similar models if you did--or your cable box is not receiving the IR signals from the emitter in the Kinect--for example, due to obstructions, reflections, direct sunlight interference, etc.

Xbox One no longer powers on/off my TV/Cable Box/Receiver when turned on/off

How are you having the Xbox One "communicate" with your devices? Are you using a Kinect or an IR emitter?

Either way, an IR signal is sent from the Xbox to the device. I would first be sure that nothing is blocking the Kinect/IR-emitter between the other devices.

Also ensure that in the "Device Power Options" settings (Settings-->TV & OneGuide-->Device Control-->Device Power Options [under Power]), make sure your Xbox is set to send a signal. It should be set to "Toggle" instead of "Nothing".
