Xbox one kinect just failed after 2 years!

As stated, I have had THIS kinect for 2 years (this is my third kinect. The other two failed) so I was surprised I got one that worked for so long. But now I have a strange issue, as it tends to work but only with the following steps. I am using an xbox
one x with the kinect adapter. The kinect doesnt power on when the console powers on. I unplug the kinect via USB from the console while it's still powered on. Then plug the usb back in. I recieved a notification message and it says kinect has been detected
and to restart now or later. I restart now. After the restarts the kinect will work for hours! No problem at all. UNTIL i am all finished gaming and turn my console off. Then I have to repeat these steps. Not a bit deal much but is a nuisance sometimes. I
mostly use my kinect for watching DVDs when I am with my daughter. Being able to say xbox pause/play or xbox volume up/down/mute while taking care of her is of great use to me. I have read online about replacing the fuse, but I was wondering if maybe there
is something else not as complicated I can try to do to get this thing working all the time, as like I said the only issue is when powering on the console it doesnt power on as well. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you

I liked Kinect. I cant use mine because I refuse to buy a €40 connector for it.

I'd shop around and buy a used one online. They sell them at my local Cex for under €20.

Question. Does Microsoft still repair kinect, or they just gave everything up completely with this product? If so, that's a shame.

Hi Peanut,

Thanks for coming to the forums. The only thing we have is
troubleshooting the Kinect. Thre are other troubleshooting for Kinect at the bottom of that guide. Sounds as if the Kinect may be going out. Try these out and let us know.

I cant recall exactly but a week at the most. Maybe 5 or 6 days ago... ok I will be sure to follow him and hopefully it is something with the update build because the kinect has worked fine for over 2 years and even works fine without powering off but
only after I re-plug in and restart console. Thanks again hope to get this resolved!

Hi there,

I'm really sorry to hear about the issues with your Kinect. :/ Are you in the Xbox Insider program at all? An update might have interfered with Kinect functionality on boot.. Please let the community know, and we'll do our best to help.
