Xbox one keeps turning off

So 1st console kept turning itself now we have just received 2nd console & 10 mins after installing it all........that keeps turning itself off! Please I am about to throw all my Son's consoles out the window bcoz I am sick of all the problems!

Xbox one s keeps turning off after an hour

My Xbox one s keeps turning off after an hour I've been to settings and turned off 1 hour automatic shut down but still it keeps turning off I thought it my be over heating so I had it cleaned but no problems please help

there's a few things to keep in mind with power issues:

- the console needs to be plugged directly into the wall outlet and not a surge protector, power strip, or similar electrical splitting device

- if you are on a wireless connection, try wired, as some router settings can cause devices to power off

- it may not be well enough ventilated or in a warm area & is overheating

Sadly, with this, it means that your console can no longer hold a power charge (or something like that). You have 2 things you can do now:

1) Call 1-800-4MyXbox and set up a repair with an agent.

2) Go to myservice.xbox.com and set up a repair on that website.

I personally suggest the 2nd option, as to where it is faster then waiting, and really simple to set up.

Please respond to this thread if you need additional help setting up the repair.

Thanks for the tip. Is there a way to determine if its a hardware issue and are their steps to fix it?

It is possible the console is overheating. You can try a hard reset to see if it will help buy you may need to set it up for a repair.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Here is the link for requesting a

there are a few threads on this. Mine has shut off 3 times now and I wasn't playing games any of the times it happened.

Hi! If you even performed a factory reset and tested the power brick, I'm afraid this might be due to faulty hardware.
