Xbox One keeps turning itself on

Im creating my own thread at the numerous suggestions of moderators. I have an Xbox One, no Kinect installed, and the power setting are NOT instant-on. On numerous occasions, I have found my Xbox on. I have been away from the console and friends (seated
right next two me) tell me my account has just logged in (via their phone app). When I return home, the console is in fact on (controller is not). How do i prevent this from happening?

I appreciate any assistance.

Xbox One keeps turning itself on.

Im having the same problem. Ive even cleaned the whole damn thing with antiseptic wipes 5 times and it still switches itself back on. Microsoft are no help as they have not got a single clue as to what is happening and offer their equivalent of 'have you
tried turning it off and back on again'. There is over 26 thousand complaints about this now and no one has had any advice that works

Maybe Microsoft should get off their collective **** and have a good hard look at this problem as it is not isolated and seems to be getting worse

That's an interesting one, we've not seen many reports of that issue happening at all. Is this an original Xbox One model, or an Xbox One S model? If it's an original model, try unplugging the console from the power source and cleaning the power button with
a soft try cloth to remove any fingerprints or debris. If that doesn't help, make sure your console is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector/power strip. The Xbox One console has a built in surge protector, so if it's connected to another
one, it's very possible that there could be a power issue going on. Aside from that, it's also possible the console is downloading updates in the background.

Hello Satansquid I'm also have the same issue it turns on at the must random of times to where I would come home and found it on or be woken up in the night to the noise of the xbox turning on, I have tried to reset the console via holding the power button
I have also done a factory reset, I have changed power settings, I have now resulted to unplugging the console when not in use.

Any assistance would be appreciate,
