Xbox One keeps switching itself on

My Xbox One is connected to a Samsung "smart" TV. Whenever I switch on the TV or even just select an app on its screen, the Xbox switches itself on.

This entirely useless behaviour (I don't need it running all the time) is extremely annoying.

I would find it useful if the TV switched itself on when I start the Xbox but not vice versa.

I cannot find a setting on the TV or the Xbox that appears to change this behaviour.

Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

You need to remove your Xbox One from Samsung TV's Universal Remote

1. Grab your Samsung TV remote and hit the home button.

2. Navigate left to the sources section.

3. In the sources menu, move right to the Universal Remote section.

4. Here, you should see all the devices currently integrated with your TV.

5. Navigate to your Xbox One and press up to access the menu.

6. Hit delete.

This can be the Xbox turning on to check for system or games updates. You could try to disable this option if you want:

- Press the Xbox button > Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Power mode & start-up > Select "Energy saving mode" from the Power mode.

- Press the Xbox button > Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates. Under Updates, uncheck "Keep my console up to date" and "Keep my games & apps up to date".

I tried it and it did the same thing, it does it on different games and the thing is once it shuts itself off the light on the power adapter goes off too but I doubt it might be because of the cable/adpater since
it's still in good condition and not bending in any way
