Xbox One keeps shutting off after roughly 1 minute

I have an Xbox One Elite. Last night, my a*hole cat walked behind the TV and stepped on the surge protector, which shut off the TV and Xbox One. The TV's fine, but now, the Xbox won't start up properly. It turns on for a little over a minute (I've timed it), then shuts off and the light on the power brick turns orange. During the brief time it's on, the screen is blank. While pressing the Xbox button on the controller turns on the console on, the controller itself won't stay on; the light flashes a few times before it shut off along with the console. And the controller doesn't power on at all when I turn on the Xbox.

The problem is not the HDMI cable or the TV

I've tried unplugging for 15 seconds and plugging it back in

I've tried unplugging it for a longer period of time in case of overheating - it's not overheating

I've tried different outlets, including plugging it directly into the wall

I've tried pressing the eject button several times

I've tried blowing cool air on the vents with a hair dryer

I've tried holding down the power button along with eject/sync buttons

Any suggestion that involves holding down the power button - either by itself, with the eject/sync buttons, or all 3 - doesn't work as the console turns off after a minute regardless of whether or not I have my finger on the power button. Holding down the button while the console is turned off doesn't do anything, either.

It appeared to shut off sooner last night (after 30-45 seconds), otherwise the problem is the same. I'm honestly at a loss for what to do here.

Any suggestions would be helpful, but I'd appreciate not being told to try something I've already tried at least 20 times.

Hi, sorry to hear that. If even with a new power brick the issue persists
Probably an internal component in your console is failing

In this case the best option would be get your console inspected with the closest authorized repair center available in your city

If your Xbox console is the original Xbox one. You can try purchasing a new power brick.
But if you have an Xbox one S and newer. You may need to get your console inspected with an authorized repair center.
Because you tried basically everything from your side and the console still doesn't turn on

I figured I'd post one more update because I know what it's like to find a forum post that describes the problem you have only for there to be no follow-up/answer. I took my Xbox to a different repair center. The tech there never got past the diagnostic step. He disassembled the Xbox, checked on the hard drive with some program (hard drive is fine, btw), and when he turned it on again, the Xbox came on and started running an update like nothing had happened. Best guess is my cat turned off the Xbox before it had a chance to finish the update or something. So, she didn't destroy my Xbox, she's just a turd.

While it's not a satisfying, clear-cut answer for what went wrong, I think it signifies this isn't some unfixable issue. Figuring out how to run a diagnostic program on an Xbox hard drive might be enough clear up whatever is causing the problem.

I was finally able to take it to a local repair center, but they didn't actually inspect it. They said the problem was likely with the motherboard, which they can't repair, and then offered some type of plan that would allow me to get a replacement for $100. I'd still like to know what the problem is and how to fix it, though, especially since it would be a month before their plan would take effect.

Thanks for the response. I took your advice and ordered a new power supply from Amazon a couple of days ago. It arrived today, but it hasn't fixed the issue. The Xbox is doing the same thing it did with the original power brick.
