    Xbox One keeps shutting off after cleaning and purchasing new power supply


    I recently started playing online again after about 10 month absence and I noticed when playing online with friends in a party, my Xbox would randomly power off. I cleaned the little bit of dust out of the vents and moved the power supply so both were well
    ventilated. I continued to have problems and assumed it was the power supply. I just got a replacement power supply today and am having the same issue, except now my Xbox won't turn on. It lights up for about 5 seconds and shuts off. This happened once
    before and after waiting a few minutes and disconnected the power and reconnecting it worked again. Not sure if there is something else I should try or just upgrade to an Xbox One S or One X? Any information is appreciated.

    360 elite keeps shutting off

    i tried the outlet method. i opened up the power supply and cleaned it out, but i noticed the fan moves pretty slow.

    after cleaning out the power supply it now last about 10-15 minutes longer, but still shuts off. I'm still having problems with the website though. i will probably just buy a new power supply

    Xbox One Keeps Turning Off

    Went on Microsoft Edge to watch dbz. Had a few pop-ups but the site worked fine. After a few episodes the Xbox One shut off unexepectantly. I turned the device on again, however, after a minute it shut off. When I reset the power by unplugging the power
    supply for some time, it again came on and turned off. It still keeps doing this and I don't know why. I've switch outlets too, so it's not just a bad outlet. The power cord seems to be working; when I plug it to an outlet its light glows orange. However,
    when I hook it to the Xbox One and turn it on, it will shut off after a couple of minutes. I've also cleaned whatever dust might of accumulated on the power supply and the console.

    If you want to update go to the Xbox one s less expensive if you are a hardcore gamer go whit the Xbox one x enjoy yore gaming

    The Xbox abruptly shutting off either means an overheating issue or a power supply problem.

    Check that your Xbox has plenty of breathing room around it. It needs to efficiently circulate cold and hot air to stay running. Also clean any dust off the Xbox, as dust bunnies can accumulate on the ventilation holes and cause the Xbox to overheat. The
    Xbox One can also overheat if you stand it up vertically. The power supply brick requires adequate ventilation as well, and dust can accumulate on that.

    If you have completely cleaned the dust off your Xbox and its power supply, and it’s still shutting off while gaming, then there is a problem with power. If it’s connected to a power strip or surge protector, the Xbox may not draw enough power and shut off.
    See if there’s a difference when you plug it directly to the outlet.

    If it still shuts off, then your power supply may be defective, and will require replacement. You can submit a repair order through Microsoft or find a used, genuine power supply from a used games shop.
