    XBOX One Keeps shutting down between 10seconds and 5 minutes after boot


    Ok so no idea with this tried to Shut it all down, unplugged it all hard reset it, gave it a bit of a blow out but the console just keeps shutting down on its own after a few seconds, sometimes it stays on for upto about 5 minutes but will then shut down,
    it makes the turn off sound as if i have pressed the button again to turn it back off,.

    I have cleaned it, i got it work a couple of days ago and yesterday but today it seems really set on not working at all, any ideas or is this a call to support, could it be the new preview patch?

    Xbox keeps shutting down.

    My Xbox keeps shutting down to prevent overheating. There is nothing blocking the vents. I tried unplugging overnight, but continues to shut down after 3-5 minutes. Fan comes on and red light flashes for less than a minute.

    xbox one s ventilation problem

    My sons xbox one s keeps shutting down after 5-10 minutes and displays a ventilation problem error message. The console is only 20-22 months old, it is used for a few hours each night and then for several hours each day over the weekend.

    The noises coming from the console seemed to be getting louder in the last few weeks and in the last couple of days the noises have reduced and the console shuts down automatically after 5 - 10 minutes of game play.

    Can you help?

    Hey there. I have the same brand, so I think it will work eventually. Try holding the Xbox logo on the console until it shuts down, unplug the power cord and the hard drive and leave it for 5 minutes. After that, plug the power in, but leave the drive unplugged
    and boot it up. Once it's fully booted, try plugging the drive in again

    Try holding the Xbox logo on the front of the console until it shuts down, then unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug it back in and try booting again

    Hey mate,

    Rather then factory reset, have you tried just giving it a hard boot instead? This shuts down all background processes, and might just kick it back into gear for you.

    How to hard boot? With the console on, hold down the power button on the front of the console for 10seconds until the console switches off. Leave it for a minute or two, then power it back on again. It should show the green xbox screen before loading to
    dash, which shows its been done correctly.

    Any slowness or lag on the UI is usually fixed by a hard boot, so is well worth a try :)

    Hey guys,

    Have you tried hard booting your console? This can fix a lot of different issues, including freezing issues :) To hard boot your console (which just completely shuts it down, and closes all background applications), you need to have the console on, and sitting
    at the dashboard. Then, hold down the power button on the front of the console for 10seconds until the console switches off, and leave it for a minute or two, before turnign it back on again. You should then see the green xbox screen, before it loads to the
    dashboard.

    Once that is done, try again and let us know how it goes :)
