Xbox One Keeps Losing Connection With Portable External Hard Drive

Hi guys,

For about a year, I have used a Toshiba Canvio Basics 2TB (HDTB420XK3AA) portable external hard drive (HDTB420XK3AA) with a USB 3.0 connection for external storage to compliment my Xbox One with 1TB of storage. It has worked fine until I downloaded the last
update for my Xbox One a couple of weeks ago. Now, when attempting to update games or download them from the store, the external drive goes to sleep after about five minutes and I get the "Installation Stopped!" error message. I have looked all over and cannot
find a solution to keep the drive "awake." I found a file released by Toshiba called "Toshiba Sleep Removal Tool v1.01", but when I plug the external drive into my PC, it doesn't even recognize it (I'm guessing [and hoping] this is because it's been formatted
for use with my Xbox).

I've tried the following:

• Unplugged the external drive when it goes to sleep and plugging back in, even using different USB ports. It will then be recognized by the Xbox One, but the drive then goes into sleep mode again after a few minutes.
• Tested all the USB ports on the Xbox One (all work fine with plugged controller)
• Moving files in Offline Mode (Drive again goes to sleep after five minutes and the transfer hangs)
• Set the Xbox One to "Instant On" and unchecked "When Xbox is off, turn off storage"

Might one of you fine Xbox Forum Ambassadors know of something I have missed?
