    I am still using an Xbox 360 as a Media Center Extender to watch live and recorded TV. I wish Microsoft would work with Silicondust's HDHomerun or come up with some other way to incorporate that same functionality in the Xbox One, but that is for a different
    forum. I now have a new Xbox One S and Samsung TV and I am trying to connect the Xbox 360 to the HDMI in of the Xbox One S. While the connection is fine and I can watch Media Center through the Xbox One S, I am struggling to get the IR blasting to work.
    The Xbox One S is on a shelf two above the shelf of the Xbox 360. From what I can tell the Xbox 360 IR receiver seems picky and doesn't allow for a wide range of angles even with an official Xbox 360 controller. As such, I don't think the Xbox One S' front
    IR blaster is able to successfully control it. I didn't think that would be a problem and I just added a cabled IR blaster to the IR Out port on the back of the Xbox One S. This does not appear to be working at all. It is hard to tell if a signal is being
    sent, but if so, it is not controlling the Xbox 360 at all. It also appears that the Kinect is not IR blasting either, because if I block the front Xbox One S IR blaster, it doesn't control my TV either. This is really messing up my plans of a single easy
    remote that is grandparent proof. Is there a way to disable the front IR blaster and correctly send the same IR commands through the IR port in the back? Or at least get the right commands out of the port on the back, I can always block the front blaster
    myself.

    Suggestion: Plug in 360

    the 360 has an ir port, i wonder what controls can be received, I wonder if Kinect can forward controller info from the xbox one to the 360 to control it Xbox One Isn't IR Controlling Xbox 360 :)

    Nope, the Xbox 360 controllers won't work with the Xbox One. The Xbox 360 controllers use IR to connect to the console, whilst the Xbox One uses WiFi direct (way faster than IR).

    Yup 360 controller is IR not Bluethoot. You need a Xbox One S controller for bluethoot connectivity.

    Apologies for the delayed response! If you are wishing to send volume control signals to your Xbox One console, it will need to be via Kinect 2.0 or an IR blaster. There isn't a way to control volume through USB.

    Yes. I have configured my Xbox One to use my Xbox 360 through the HDMI input. And, the Xbox One is able to seamlessly control the Xbox 360's media center.

    I changed the configuration of the Xbox 360 to boot directly into media center so I only need to turn it on. Once on, the Xbox One can control the channels via IR blasting.

    I'm actually shocked that there is no cable for the IR blaster but yet it is able to easily control both my TV and Xbox 360 which are nearby. There is no mention of having to face the IR blaster at any of the devices. So, I assume the transmitter is strong
    enough to be able to bounce off wall.

    Other than having to have both on, it seems like the integration is seamless.

    During setup, you are asked what kind of set top box you are using, just select "XBOX".
