Xbox One is the first console I've ever had that has died

In all the years of owning consoles since an NES, the Xbox One the only console I've every had that has died on me. Conveniently this happened six months after the one year warranty expired. How does anyone agree to pay $120 to fix their console on top of
shipping? What is the point? I think I may just stick with PC from now on after this experience.

The problem is the Xbox One will not turn on and has a steady orange light on the power supply. I've tried every power cycling solution there is and contacted support who also told me I was screwed and they can't do anything for me. I guess I've learned
to never buy digital games as well. Good thing I have half a year of Xbox Live that I had to pay for in advance and can't get anything back for!

Do you still get free xbox live?

Hi. The other day I got an Xbox One. Unfortunately the power supply died next day which left my console useless. And now it can take weeks to get my replacement shipped to me. With that being said, will they reimburse me? I had a friend who's 360 died and
try sent him a free month of live when they shipped him his system. Sorry if I'm mistaken. This is he first time I've had to send in something to microsoft.

ok so this [mod removed] happening to me too yes drive has been change because the one that came with the console died what was i suppose to do not change it. this will make me leave 360 for good has iv had my 360 like for ever

Either your console or your power supply unit will have to be repaired/replaced, which must be made clear to Xbox Support if you still plan on getting a repair/replacement.

Already did that bud if you read the post. The repair cost doesn't seem worth it.

I'd like to know as well, because I've also noticed this. I've done some testing on my own and found that there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I've had times where I helped multiple hosts kill the boss and not turned human. I've had times where
it's happened first time. I've had times where the host has died or even I died as a phantom and was turned human in my world.

I've only ever upgraded my Xbox once, from the original white 20gb, to one of the 1st black consoles with 120gb - and only did this as my original xbox died. No plans to buy another unless I have to.

I've had an Xbox since the first on just because it was different back then, you know. PlayStation was already a household name because it came out in 1994 whereas Xbox didn't come out until about 2001. I've been in love with it ever since my brother bought
the big heaping mess the first one was, and I've honestly never had a problem with any of my Xbox consoles. the only problem I've had was the one time the power brick fan died on my Xbox 360 but I just went to Game Stop and bought a new one, after owning it
for like 6 years.

Switching to PlayStation won't really change anything. People have similar issues with their hardware, you have to pay for their subscription service too... with the whole online gaming subscription service thing being a thing a that Microsoft basically
invented. Its the same people and community just with a few different games, and a different look.
