Xbox One is stuck on a black screen after I turn it on

When I turn my XB1 on it shows me the green screen with the logo on for a bit and then it just goes to a completely black screen and nothing else happens. This started a couple of days ago when the update came out, but I never even got to the update screen
so I don't know if that affected it.

I've tried power cycling, booting in low res mode and pretty much everything else I've seen recommended.

I'd send it in for repair but I need to find my serial number, which isn't very easy when the console won't do anything.

After update xbox one will get stuck on a black screen and xbox loading screen.

Let's get a bump going on in here.

 

Have you got another TV you can try it on? Another HDMI cable you can try?

If you can rule out an issue with the TV and the cable, then at least you'll know for sure that the console is faulty.

BTW, the serial number is on the console itself somewhere. I think it's on the back. It's also on a sticker that's on the box.

 

I'll give it a shot on another TV.

It just seems like the console itself is freezing rather than not displaying properly since it does show me the green logo screen every time.

 

The only other thing I can suggest, although you've probably tried it already, is, if you were using the "instant on" mode, do a full shut down of the console by holding your finger on the console's power button for about 10 seconds when you turn it off.
The power light on the PSU should go orange instead of white. Then turn it back on again and see if it boots properly.

Also, you could try disconnecting Kinect and any other peripherals you have hooked up to see if that makes a difference.

Outside of those, and the other suggestions I posted, I don't think there's anything else you can try as you've already tried booting in low res mode.

Well I still haven't been able to sort it out so you might as well just get it repaired.

Well then.

I used a flash drive to restore the console to factory settings and it works now.
