Xbox One is not getting the internet speeds that i am paying for.

So basically my xbox one is getting around 70 to 80 mbps download and 22 mbps upload. Really i am not complaining about the speed because this is by far the fastest internet i have had. but the thing is, time warner cable has upgraded me to 200 mbps download
and 20 mbps upload. they just keep saying that its not guaranteed to get 200. i told them to send out a technician to see if there were any problems. he arrived today and told me that gaming systems do not have " Gig E" cards. i called BS but he would not
budge. he hooked up his device and showed me that i was getting around 230 mbps on 3 test. so he said none of my devices are compatible with these kind of speeds. i know the xbox one can get faster speeds than what i am currently getting. i am wired from my
xbox to modem with a CAT 5E cable. All of my other devices have their wifi turn off and still no luck. i have a 2008 white macbook so testing on my computer shows horrible results. can anybody help me with this? i have not changed anything in my router settings
because i have always had an open nat. i am thinking about trying a CAT 6 cable but want others opinions before i purchase anything. Thanks

:)

I'm I allowed to give my gamertag to someone on this site
Ping 107

Download speed 1.36

Upload speed 0.39
I hate to brake it to you, but that is NOT high speed internet. Basic internet is about 3 MBPS and High Speed is usually 8-10 MBPS.

Taking 6 hours to download a 5-8 gig game with that slow internet is perfectly normal and would explain the lag problems you use to have.

Who told you that was High Speed? If you're paying for High Speed, then I would definitely call your ISP because you're paying for something you're NOT getting.

Best router for gaming with two xbox 360s?

Well this question kinda has 2 answers. 1. I personally us netgear router and it runs perfect. 2. your internet service providers upload and download speed means alot getting a new router will not salve your problem if your internet speed is very slow there
is free sites online that you can use to check your internet speed to make sure you are getting the speed you are paying for i would check in to one of them first and test your speed befor you spend money on a router because getting a new router may not always
solve your problem.

Xbox One is not getting the internet speeds that i am paying for.

Cat 5e cables are good to 1Gb speeds but saying that your modem and router must also be able to produce those speeds. If your network equipment will handle those speeds then it may be that your device(s) may not be able to support those speeds. The xbox
one does have a Gb network card installed. As far as the MAC goes it is rather old so it probably won't handle those speeds.

You could try resetting everything to see if it helps your bandwidth. Reset your modem/router by unplugging them for a couple of minutes then restart them. Do a hard reset on your xbox one EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10
seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is up and operational run your tests again to see if there was any improvements.

all the link asked me was if my speeds were better than 3 mbps. i clicked yes and nothing more to go through. im not saying my speeds are slow. i just do not understand why some people can get much higher speeds than i do. the technician said i am getting
over 200 mbps. but i will only see that with a compatible device. if the xbox is able to handle those speeds than why am i not getting anywhere close to 200?

The speed between you and your internet provider is one thing. The speed between you and the Xbox Live servers is another thing.

You can only download as fast as Xbox Live servers can send the data to you. That is likely why you are getting 70-80Mbps down over a 200Mbps connection.

Overall, I wouldn't worry about those numbers if your connection is fine.

I'm doing great on a 37Mbps down/6Mbps up connection, and my service is rated around 40 down/10 up.
