Xbox One is in a constant reboot when using WIFI?

I am posting this for a good friend of mine. He recently purchased an Xbox One. He did not have Internet at the time so he came by my house to download the updates. Updates were downloaded, all was great. He finally got internet hooked up two weeks ago.
This is all new to him, I came over and helped to hook up his Xbox to the WiFi (PACE D5001 MODEM/ROUTER COMBO). Everything was working great.

Yesterday he turned on his xbox and it would not load into the dashboard. It would get the green loading screen for about 5-10 seconds and then would restart. It would do this continuously. I tried everything I could think of to help. Finally decided to
load the factory reset onto a thumb drive and try that. I got the reset started, everything was going good until it asked to set up wireless. As soon as we submit the password for the WiFi, the Xbox would restart. He took the Xbox back to Best Buy and got
another new console.

Brought the new console home, turned it on, entered in WiFi password and updates started downloading. Thought we were in the clear. It downloaded updates, restarted/installed updates. Screen came up to check if there were any other updates. It would sit
at the "searching for updates" screen for about 30 seconds and then the xbox would restart on its own. It was in a continuous loop of restarting again. I decided to try using an Ethernet cable. I plugged it in and it actually worked. The dashboard loaded up,
we downloaded Netflix and streamed a show. Everything was perfect.

Then, I unplugged the Ethernet cable and the xbox restarted. It would not load up into the dashboard unless I plugged the Ethernet cable in. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Alright thanks so what i understand is that the console is Brand New and may be defective i do apologies for this but it is what i have gathered from the info you provided. You could try to re-install the latest update manually

It's a new console. Just started happening today and I didn't notice if there was any update. Nothing else odd has happened lately. Thanks

only other thing maybe try i different wireless router see if that resolves his issue.

when I searched the "Pace" , it came up as an Arris .........Arris is the worst possible gateway you can have as far as wireless and xbox , the firmware just don't jive for some reason.... leave it wired or get a modem ONLY (no gateway) and a router (netgear).....

 

Yeah, the Pace D5001 was provided by the internet provider, that is the only reason he is using it. It's weird because everything worked fine for a couple weeks. When I get a chance im going to take my router over and try it.
