The Xbox one is by far the worst console ever!!! In this day and age this piece of junk still comes with a wired controller!?? The lack of AAA exclusives is another incentive not to buy this console. Which day and age is the team at Microsoft living in??
I have to buy a separate batter pack to get the true wireless experience from this!

Microsoft had better step up their exclusive games content big time! I seriously made a mistake buying this. I will for sure sell this off at a discount and buy the PS4 instead. Absolute waste of money!

Where are the games Microsoft???? Either step up with worthwhile exclusives or leave this space altogether!

    :)

He rant it doesn't come with built-in battery, to work wireless you need to put separately AA batteries or batterypack in!

And there are no new xbox-one exclusive games coming!

All Xbox One controllers are both wired and wireless. If you connect any Xbox One controller to a console or PC with a USB cable, it becomes a wired controller and you don't need to put batteries in it. With batteries in it, you can use it wirelessly.

If you mean that there's no rechargeable battery built into the controller, it's a fair point, but in my case I actually prefer it using AA batteries. That way I have the choice of using regular AAs, rechargeable AAs, or a Play & Charge kit (or third party
version). I use rechargeable AAs and always have spares charged, so when the batteries go flat I can just swap them over and stay wireless. That's one thing I don't like about built in rechargeable batteries that you can't swap out easily - if the batteries
die while you're gaming, you have to game wired while it's charging.

As for the exclusives, I think that's a fair point. There are essentially no true exclusives anymore, but even if you just look at "console exclusives" where games only come out on PC and Xbox One, I don't think the situation is good at all compared to the
PS4 and Switch. Phil Spencer has been saying for a long time that the games are coming, but where are they?

It's easy to find out what sort of controller the Xbox One comes with and what games are available for it, so perhaps you should have looked into that before buying one. I always do a bit of research before I drop a chunk of change on something.

It surprises me how many people actually do. I don't either. I just play what I like. Doesn't matter if it's exclusive or not.

Of course they do. It's still one of the main factors a person considers when buying a console. Surveys have shown this time and time again.

I don't see how a person can say "I just play what I like and it doesn't matter if it's exclusive". I don't see how that can be true unless one of the following is true: -

    1. There are simply no exclusives at all anymore and all games are on all platforms.

    2. The person happens to only likes games that are available on all platforms.

Otherwise, you're always losing out. When someone says "there's not a single exclusive on Switch, PS4 or PC that I care about", I have a really hard time believing that they're being honest. If you only own an Xbox One, you're missing out on lots of amazing
games, but people who own other platforms can't say that about the Xbox One, at least not to the same extent. If I can play every game that the Xbox One offers without even owning an Xbox One, then perhaps I'll buy a platform that offers me all of those games
AND some exclusives ones that the Xbox doesn't have. Lots of people are doing that, evidently, given how poorly the Xbox One is doing in sales compared to the competition.

I do understand why it is important for people when purchasing a console, especially if it's your first console or something like that, but it's just not something that's every bothered me so much I feel the need to sell everything to just buy a new console
to play a specific game because it's not on the console I already have. Of course in my situation I've been lucky enough to get other consoles just to experience them. So if there is a game that's not available on Xbox, I can still play it.

  12. Same here. Well, except for the fact that I can't really afford to have multiple consoles, so I just stick with my Xbox(es).

I play video games to have fun and enjoy the experience. Halo was the first game I actually went out and bought a whole new console just to play, but that was when I could get an OG Xbox for $150 U.S.D. After that, Xbox has been plenty good enough to keep
me happy and occupied with my gaming. I don't have to have every brand new "amazing" title out there. I most certainly will not spend for an entire new console/accessories just for a couple of exclusives that are awesome when there are plenty of games available
on my console to keep me playing. I've never felt that I'm "missing out" because of that.

I keep getting the next gen Xbox consoles mainly because of brand familiarity, but also because I have found that over time there have been enough games and there is enough quality in the online experience for me to feel confident in that purchase. It has
rarely left me down in number of games I like to play, titles available and experience with the console and its operation.

So no... it is NOT one of the main factors I consider when buying a console and it won't be unless/until there isn't enough to keep me going on Xbox. I've never participated in a survey and couldn't care less what they tell everyone else. I follow my own
    instincts, not everyone else's.

Other people have tried to tell me, at one point or another, that I'm "losing out", but I seriously don't care... and the reason is... I'm not doing this to play every "amazing" game out there. If I was, then I'd have to buy every console just to play the
    exclusives. Ummm, no.

It might be different if Xbox actually had some decent exclusives, but they haven't even come close to competing with Sony or Nintendo for the best games over the last few years. That's one of the reasons I sold my Xbox One, there was just no point in keeping
it when I have a PS4 and a Switch. I tried it out for several months, but quite frankly there just wasn't anything special about it.

The real question... is why can't Microsoft and Sony (as so many games are on both platforms) make some rules for developers regarding the quality of games, such as only allowing smaller updates when they are first released so that games ship with fewer
    bugs.
Because as soon as Sony or MS starts laying down strict rules then said dev runs to the media complaining (whining) about restrictions to their artistic method. Media publishes slanted articles on the "corporate/draconian bootstomping". Gamers "lap up" said
articles and quickly point fingers to the bad corporate machinery as the purveyor of all the problems. Also, dev/pub blames long delays in anticipated game release dates on MS/Sony. Thus impatient gamers and media start pointing fingers of blame to restrictive
    corporate practices.

The real question is: why do gamers pre-order games? Thus rewarding pubs/devs with money in the bank regardless of game quality. Can't wait one week after release to read reviews on quality and performance of a game? Why do some games that require so much
patching still get so many gamers buying their games? Shouldn't poor game testing result in products so bad that nobody buys the game? If so many gamers are buying broken games, then your argument is with the gamers as well. Because the devs/pubs seem to have
the greenlight to patch often, so they will continue to do so.

As to the process of patching. I believe some of the methods are a download in temp memory>find and replace certain files. I noticed game sizes not changing much even though the patch is large. For example: game is 10 GB in size. Patch for it is 4 GB. When
the patching is done, game is now 10.8 GB. Thus, the patch may be adding some new content, but also might just be finding and replacing only certain existing files. Also, I believe some patches might be cumulative. For example: patch 1.01 is 5 GB, and six
months later patch 1.05 is 8 GB. If you have been offline for a while then you get the larger patch. And it is always the larger, more recent version.

X1 was patiented as a. "Console" but when it comes to using it as a console, without at least initial access to the net, creation of an 'online account,' HUGE console and controller updates etc. It's essentially. A Brick.

With the net, updates etc, it will run games. But works far better as an app machine and serfing the web. lol, my PC is junk, but rather than buying a new one. I simply use the X1. No need for anti virus programs etc. Sure you can't Dl PDF files etc but
it does save you a tone of $ in that respect. So it's not entirely garbage. ;)

I agree to a point that MS is responsible to push everything towards internet in a way - that everybody with just normal internet, thinking occational GB downloads, is left in vain.

No move of much stuff to usb, like 360 has - pushing everything to cloud or onedrive.

BC is requiring to download digitally full 360 games all over, even having disks.

I mean in many fields of commerce a seller is bound to inform what is required to use a product.

So MS should - Xbox system requirement - super duper internet, flatrate is needed to make full use of xbox one.

And many games require to be online even when playing single player.

Certain games also having online multiplayer/coop require Gold membership with annuals cost approx. $80.

Something like that, should be on every system requirement.
