I have to use my roommates computer to download the factory restore, so I can't do it at the moment, but when I can, I'll post the results here.

I'm guessing that if the console does have to be replaced, I should expect to have to pay for it despite this issue being seemingly an Xbox problem, not a user problem? My warranty has expired unfortunately and I'm not entirely sure I want to spend the assuredly
ridiculous amount of money to get this fixed.

Hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised by Xbox, but we'll see...

Completely understand.

If it does appear to be an issue caused by the system - as it appears to be, with the case that's open, I'm able to talk with Support to see if the fee can be waived.

If the fee can be waived, that would be great. I don't hate Xbox or Microsoft or anything, but this is a seriously frustrating thing to have to deal with.

If this can't be resolved in an acceptable manner, it's going to be hard to convince myself to stick with Xbox instead of PlayStation. It's frustrating enough not having a real baseball game on Xbox (I realize that's not your or Xbox's fault in any way),
but if I have to deal with a faulty system, I'm not sure I want to put up with that.

As I said, once I get the results from the factory restore, I'll post them here. I won't be able to try it until at least tomorrow, so I'll report back when I do finally have them.

I did the offline system update...it recognized the update, downloaded it...then froze about at about 75% of the applying of the update.... Next step to factory restore??
