Xbox One is frozen on the start screen with the three dots.

My Xbox One has been frozen for about 4 hours. I turned off and disconnected everything And even rebooted and it is still frozen. Can someone help me please?

It just sits on the green loading screen with the xbox icon and three white dots and seems unable to proceed.

Same issue for me... Has anyone found a solution for this? Power cycling has done nothing for me...

 

First noticed this issue on 04/01/15. I've tried everything except the offline system update tool because I don't have access to any Windows machines...

I tried the offline system diagnostic tool, but after holding the bind and eject button for 15 seconds, nothing happens. In fact, nothing at all happens for several minutes, at which point the xbox green screen comes up and the console is stuck there as
if I hadn't done anything with the offline system update diagnostic tool...

Do you have any further suggestions?

I was asked by Xbox Support to keep an eye on the issue - and report back if the offline diagnostics doesn't resolve it.

I've had a few people come back to me now saying it doesn't resolve it, so I'll update the case and let's hope this gets resolved for everyone.

 

TheJackah, in the meantime, is there anything for me to do other than sit and wait? I'd kind of like to get back to having a working Xbox One...

Please excuse any aggression on my part, I'm just frustrated that such an expensive system is on the fritz for seemingly no reason...

 

I completely understand if you're frustrated.

Just been speaking to a guy at Xbox - and the case is definitely being picked up on now, due to it now being listed as a widespread issue, due to the amount of cases for such issue.

There's one last thing we can try here, however, you will lose all content on the device - though game saves will be saved in the cloud, and any digital content can be downloaded again.

This is the offline factory restore. Unfortunately, it is the last option available to the end-user to resolve this issue, as every other troubleshooting step has been unsuccessful.

Please go here:
support.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool and in that section, follow the step for 'restore factory defaults'.

I'd appreciate it if you can get back to me on how that goes.

 

I am also having this issue. When I try to request a repair all I get is a link with "error access denied" *** do I do to get help with a repair?

 

What does the case being picked up mean? Xbox is going to figure out a solution or just tell everyone to send their consoles in?

I'll try the factory restore. Will the free games with gold that I've downloaded be able to be reinstalled on the console or would I have to buy them?

Please could you show a screenshot? (blank out any personal information).

 

TheJHan, all your games, content, saves, etc, will be tied to your account and you'll be able to download it all back as normal, even 'games with gold'. Your game saves will automatically be re-downloaded from the Cloud, too.

The case being picked up on means the case being escalated to the advocacy team for urgent review - this is for widespread issues, and Support are keeping a close eye on the active case. If this solution doesn't work, they have assured me that the consoles
will be replaced.

Please get back to me on the results.
