Xbox One is connected to the internet but cannot update or connect to Xbox Live.

Hey guys,

My problem is that recently, I've been unable to connect to Xbox Live, despite being able to connect to the internet. The Xbox said no updates were available, and I've tried a few community solutions which didn't work; changing the DNS address, disconnecting
and reconnecting to my router, restarting said router, wiring it to the router. I also tried removing my account with the intention of readding it again, as had also been recommended online, and then I found it would throw up an error when I tried to do so
(Error code 0x80a40019). Network tests told me the following:

"Your network is good, but there are some Xbox service issues"

"Sorry, there is a problem on our side. To see which services are affected, check the current service status in Settings > Network or go to Xbox.com/status"

Apparently Xbox Live's status is that it's all fine and dandy, which my friend also confirmed as he was not having problems.

I then escalated the problem somewhat foolishly, performing a factory reset because it was assumed the latest update had somehow messed with it. Now the Xbox is unusable, as it wants to update before it can be used, but it's still suffering the exact same
connectivity issues despite being physically wired into the router at the moment, so it can't update.

Country/State/Province: England (UK), Devon

Router: BT Homehub 4

How many Xbox 360s/Ones connected: One.

Wired or Wireless: Wireless usually, although it's physically wired into the router right now and still having exactly the same issue.

Is UPnP enabled: Yes, I've also tried turning it off, then turning it back on again.

NAT is Open.

Error codes: 0x80a40019

I really despair with this, I'd love to hear if any of you guys have something to suggest. Absolutely nothing has changed in terms of the network, no new devices added, no changes of settings in the router, no changes in the household (i.e. new electrical
equipment installed or what have you), seemingly no reason for it to go so disastrously wrong. Nothing else in the household shows any difference in it's performance, nor are there signs of any other problems with anything except the Xbox One. If you need
any further information, I'll do what I can to provide it as soon as possible.

Xbox Live not working post update.

Two days ago I updated my Xbox One via a forced update and ever since I cannot connect to Xbox Live. It is connected to my wireless internet, or at least it says it is, but when I go to connect to Xbox Live it says I'm not connected. Then I check my wireless
settings and it again says connected. This has only started since the update, nevertheless had the problem before. Will post pictures later on. So far, not liking the new update. I plan on resetting my modem when I get the change and try again before I comment
on this again.

 

This is typically an easy fix. Try logging out of your profile and logging back in. Let us know if it works for you. Good Luck!

 

Just posting so this gets more attention. Same exact problem here and followed your exact steps - over the phone with a MS tech support rep. After a factory reset (keeping my apps & games), I'm stuck with an unusable box for the time being because it won't
update.

 

Genesis1953, as was stated in the original post, I've already tried logging out and back in again, and that didn't work. I'm also past the point now where logging out and back in again is actually possible for reasons also stated in said post (the Xbox is
stuck in the update process, where it can't perform the update but you also can't use the Xbox until it has updated.

Sorry to hear that Un7ouCh, hopefully someone will have a solution for us. I'm guessing the tech support rep didn't have any input as to what to try next at the time?

 

A possible solution would be to connect your Xbox One on a different network. Preferable, a different service provider.

If this is a workable solution for you, then let us know how that goes.

 

Brother Lame, no, the rep seemed baffled and mentioned that this exact problem had happened to someone else with no resolution. In my case, and in the other caller's case, the problem came after downloading an update - today is the first day I've booted
on my box for 2 weeks and it downloaded a long update before letting me on. The rep essentially said to wait a day and call back if it doesn't fix itself.

 

Did you get solution for this I am having same problem now for 3 weeks. Need help.

 

Any replies here, cant find a solution? I heave read read that the 0x80A40019 error can be fixed by a registry cleaner on a PC, anyway of getting into the reg on an XBO?

 

This happen to me one time I had to actually reset my entire Xbox. It's not a fun way to go but sometimes it's necessary. Let me know if this helps.

 

Hello, Sorry your having issues. If none of the steps mentioned above are working. Try contacting your internet provider and make sure there are no issues with your internet. I hope this helps and that your problems get resolved.

 

I am in the same situation. After trying everything on the forums, I called up the MS tech rep and he recommended factory reset. I have done everything that was possible including trying out offline update and I am still



stuck with the unusable box that won't update.
