It will make games easier to develop and make games run smoother. It will also make the dashboard run better. It will not boost the processing power or GPU and will only make the hardware run more smoother and a lot more efficiently. So no it won't be steroids
probably more like a vitamin boost.

First Orphan, DirectX is not just a API, it is a whole library of software programs, (APIs), that help the programmer build a software program. When I programmed they were simply called part of the operation system. These little software programs, (APIs)
are programming short cuts. Instead of writing a complete routine to turn the screen a certain color, (this is a very simple example), you set up the routine (API) and go to that routine. This saves a hell of a lot of work.

I'm sure DX12 is copywritten so there won't be any copy and pasting unless they want a huge law suite.

I guess we will all have to wait and see what happens when we know for sure DX12 is actually running on the X1. I also don't think anyone here thinks that the X1 will push past the PS4.

@JW......I would have to disagree with your last statement. There are a handful that think the X1 will be capable of deep space travel after DX12 has been released for it. It doesn't take much to figure out who they are.

What you posted was the biggest load of cow waste I have ever read, sony have said exactly what they used. Tech professionals have agreed. Ps4 is off the shelf parts nothing special at all, the audio DSP uses CU too lol. Xbox shape audio saves the system
from using the equivalent of 2 cpu cores. The ieee breakdown proves the xbox is fully custom built, so can not be compared to any existing gfx cards.

How this plans out depends on the api, so we will have to wait and see. My suspicion is you will not be here in 12 months when the games do the talking as they already are doing.
