    Is it possible to find my consoles IP address without having to look for it on my console because I lost it?

    I have a router but I have no idea about how to assign a static IP address. Do you do it through the router or through the Xbox One?

    i wrote down my ip address for my xbox to connect to my xbox one but it said "we are not able to find an xbox one console with the IP address provided.." is it because my console is off, or unplugged? BTW i am far away from my xbox like 5 km, why isn't it working?

    If you had it set up as a static/reserved IP address in your router it will probably still be there. Give that a try.

    In your router gateway you should be able to access a list of all devices connected to the network (including the Xbox) and should be able to click and view the IP address of the console.

    If you were not using a static/reserved IP address your DHCP server could have assigned it a different IP address every time it was started. You might check your router logs and get some idea what it could have been but like I said it could have changed
    every time you restarted the console.

    Hello!

    You would have to log into your router by IP address, something like 192.168.0.1, typically the first three sets of numbers match your computer and the last one is 1 for your router. Then you would have to log in the router using the predefined credentials,
    or the ones you created. You should then see a list of devices with an active IP address assigned by DHCP. Often the router will have some identifying information or even know what each device is connected to it.

    Disconnecting from CoD Ghosts

    Go into your router and check the IP address for your xbox one then go to settings/network/advanced settings/IP address and make sure the address is the same on the xbox as it is in your router. If not go to IP address manual and manually enter the IP address
    that your router gives you for the xbox one. This solved the problem for me.

    Under firewall and security there should somewhere be an option called DMZ, find DHCP reserve list and add your Xbox One IP address to the DHCP reserve list or select keep this IP address, then enter that Xbox One IP address into the DMZ when asked for an
    IP.

    Make sure this you don't double up IP addresses too.

    Is Microsoft addressing the strict nat issue?

    In your router settings, set your MAC address of your Xbox One to always force to a specific IP address, and open the Xbox Live ports for that specific IP address. The ports will always be open for that IP, and your Xbox One will always be assigned that
    IP address by your router if you set it up correctly. No issues here with an ASUS RT-N66U router.
