    xbox one - invalid format message


    My son has changed the resolution yesterday (don't ask me why!) and now see just a black screen and message Invalid format when turning on the xbox. Any idea how we fix this?

    Cant go to settings and change - as we cant see anything on the screen.

    Hey there!

    Sorry to hear you have been running into this issue with the consoles display. Have you been able to go through the Low Resolution start up on the console? To complete this just go ahead and follow the steps provided below.

    Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. Note This will boot your console in a low resolution mode (640 × 480).

    he is 9 - said he changed the resolution on the xbox.

    I have no idea about the xbox.

    Have tried changing the resolution on tv - no joy.

    before turning on your xbox one, hold down the sync, eject and power button.

    You will hear the standard power on beep, but keep holding the buttons untill you hear a second beep.

    Now release the buttons and watch your xbox getting started in the lowest resolution possible.

    From here you can go to the settings to change them back to correct values.
