Xbox One intermittent flashing "snowy" screen.

Hey there, Pema! We are currently still investigating the black screen flashes. The snowy/static screen and HDCP errors were the ones resolved recently. Please keep an eye on that thread for updates on the black screen flashes!

 

I'm still having the same issues and sent all my info to Mr somebody... the guy who was originally posting the responses. I also posted a few weeks ago but seems it was removed. I have the latest update and I don't see any difference, I'm still barely able
to get the system running and when I do I'm lucky if I can get a whole session in without having to reboot. Where did my other post go? And if/when I have to buy a hemi splitter that will correctly satisfy the hdcp link can I bill y'all for it? Maybe in the
next update there should be some software that will do the job of a splitter so that us plebeians don't have to spend more money on our console... heck i'd rather be spending my money on games rather than new hemi cables and other components to make this thing
work. I'd also rather be using my console, not staring at it with contempt as it flickers, praying that it will start one time.

 

The blackscreen and snowy screen are the same issue...

 

So I don^t think so. Blackscreen happens in hours.

Snow Flickering within Seconds, I thought...

 

I've waited a couple weeks to make sure but, I think it's safe for me to say now that my problem has been resolved. Up until this most recent update, I was seeing the snowy screen thing almost daily (and sometimes more than once a day). So far, no issues...

 

Like Il MocaJomiso, I too waited a few weeks just to make sure. However, the problem seems to have gone away with the most recent update. **Knocks on wood** Prior to this I was seeing this 2-3 times per week.

I have this issue from the beginning. (2014 April) If you starting some game or fullscreen app , the problem is fixed, but if i restarting the box and no apps running just the dashboard then i see it again.

 

Hi, i just got this problem a couple days ago with the white "snow" flashes on my Xbox One,happened after the lastest update.

It lasts for a few seconds then go away again.

Im in the previews and my console is up to date

Bought this thing ONE day ago. JUST hooked it up. Tried to watch TV, flashing snow. Hard restart. Okay. I don't need to watch TV through the Xbox. Install Netflix ap. Run Netfilx. Flashing snow. Turn off XBox. Switch to different HDMI cables (which I shouldn't
have to do). Flashing snow. Hard restart. Follow some of the advice here. Flashing snow.

I have figured the perfect "workaround". Return the XBox; get my money back. Boom. Problem solved.

I'm all for nextgen gaming, and nextgen home entertaining, but frankly I wanted this for the streaming movies and watching TV and DVD all in one package like all of the hype says I can do. I should be able to use the cables that come with it. Period. I shouldn't
have to jump through hoops to get a brand new console to work. Period.

My XBox 360 never failed. My son spilled juice on it. Still works. I dropped it down a flight of stairs. Still works. And this is the old, white XBox, not the slick, newer black one. I could keep going but I think I made my point. I have a Netflix ap in
my SmartTv and a BluRay player hooked up to it. Tomorrow I'm returning this defect and cancelling my XBox Live Gold account.

Keep your games... I have a PS4 for that.

Still happening to me too - the TV is unwatchable as it also affects the sound output for me.

MY Setup is LG 42" LA690V and TOSHLINK Turtle Beach X41 - SKY HD (model R010.070.58.13P) I am running the latest Preview.

 

Happening to me also. Mine happens when I plug my controller in to my xbox to play while charging, and it only happens while I'm playing GTA that I downloaded onto my hard drive. I am also in the early preview program. Hard reset only really solves the issue
for a little while before it starts again.

 

Hey Guys,

What solved this problem for me was the following:

- Access "Settings" from the main menu using the Menu Button

- Select Display and sound

- Go to TV connection, and set to HDMI, with 1080P Resolution.

- The default setting was "AutoDetect" which was causing the blinking and snowy screens for me...
