Xbox One Installation Stopped External Hard Drive

I Cannot install any game on any External Hard drive.

Whenever I try to install a game it gives an "Installation Stopped" Messaged after only a few seconds of trying to download

This happens no matter which game I try to install.

I have tested with 3 2tb external hard drives and all have the same effect.

Installing to the internal hard drive does not have this problem.

I have tried:

Clearing Local Saved Games

Hard Resetting // Power Cycling

Changing My D.N.S.

Clearing The MAC Address.

Ensured I have enough space (one of the 2tb was just formatted for games out of the box)

Ensured that the console is up to date.

UnPlugged the console multiple times

And Factory Reset the Console without keeping any games.

None of these options has worked. I initially thought it was the hard drive itself that's why I ordered a new 2tb. After the problem persisted with the new one I tested a third out and got the same effect

There are no error codes when it says installation stopped. The hard drive meets the criteria to be used as an external hard drice. I have not usd the hard drive on any other consoles as I only have 1 xbox one.

EDIT:

- Tried reformatting drive after failed download.

- Tried changing attached external hard drive to different USB ports that can be installed on Xbox.

When moving or copying the base game to external hard drive, download usually stops around 0.7% to 0.9%

I know there are a lot of posts but let me re-summarize.

Hard drive was working with everything.

Xbox updated.

External Hard Drive allows Apps to install no issue, but games will not install or be moved to the External Hard Drive.

Games that were on the external drive still work but are no longer able to update and as such error out when attempting to play.

Given hardware did not change and is still in working order as evidenced by being read and installing Apps (small sized files compared to games), the only thing that changed was software (the update).

Some users report certain external hard drive enclosures work still ($7.99 on Amazon) but previous ones stopped. This tells me there is a driver incompatibility or a soft block on certain external device enclosures.

As long as you don't install both discs on the same hard drive, you should be good. For example, install disc one on your main Xbox 360 hard drive. Install disc two on an external hard drive or flash drive.
