Xbox One installation glitch

There is an update for one of the games I play that is necessary to play the game. The update is around 2.7 gigabytes, and I have over 800 gigabytes on my console. Yet for whatever reason, whenever I try to update the game, I am greeted with error code
0x80070070, and a message saying that I need to clear about 1,700 megabytes of space to start the installation. I am not the only person to have this issue, and some help would be greatly appreciated.

check this out you if this has been going on for hours like you say then it could be a glitch or you may have a bad disc and you might need to exchange it for a new one.

Hi there,

Clear your persistent storage, go to Settings > Disc & BLU-RAY > Persistent Storage > Clear persistent storage.

Then perform a console
Power Cycle

Let us know the results.

No, that won't work.

Persistent storage is for clearing the cache (a very small cache I might add) for Blu-ray movie discs that can connect online. It has nothing to do with games.

The reason why your game won't update is likely because the storage device the game is installed to is full. Game updates have to go to the same storage that game is installed to.

1. Move your game to another external drive.

2. Run the game, you'll get the update notification and the update should now download.

Sorry to hear that you're facing these issues while trying to update your game. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of what's causing this and resolve this problem.

If the previously posted troubleshooting steps haven't done the trick, I think that a soft reset of your console is another great step you can try.
It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting step for most issues.



Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.
