    OK, so picked up an Xbox One at last at the weekend, though it is a Christmas present so cant play it until then. However, I did install the games prior to Christmas as I knew they took some time to install. I wasn't quite
    expecting a digital copy of Fifa 15 to take around 18 hours     though!!!

    Granted, I only have a 4 meg broadband connection, but is it normal to take that long? I'm mainly looking for replies from people who have similar broadband speeds to see how long it took other people cause 18 hours
    seems utterly ridiculous.

    Xbox One Install time problem.

    If the console is connected to Xbox LIVE when you install a new game, it will check and see if there are any updates for the game and download those at the same time.

    Depending on the speed of your connection this may take a long time if it is downloading a few Gb of data. You can disconnect from Xbox LIVE and try installing again which should be much faster.

    I've got a good broadband speed so can't compare on that score m8 but if you install the games when your offline that's supposed to speed things up.

    Disc copies will install faster offline.

    Disconnect from the internet, install the game. Then connect to the internet and install the updates.

    The reason that it takes longer to install when you're online is because the ONE starts multi tasking and splitting resources between installing the game and downloading the updates at the same time.

    I only hav around 5 meg download so I feel your pain, although 18 hours does seem a long time lol, I had to download the halo update on release and started at about midday. And by half ten in the evening I had about 5% to go lol

    I have Forza Horizon 2 on disc, and that took about 1 and half hours to install fully, so there is a heck of a lot of difference there. I dont plan to buy any games digital (just Fifa 15 came as a code) so it wont affect
    me again, but I was just incredibly shocked by how long it took.

    Thats good then. I'm sure glad I didn't leave it until Christmas Day to install Fifa though. I'd have been waiting until Boxing Day to play it!!! Ha ha!

    5 -6 hours would be the correct time to download 12gb on 4mb, but not everybody gets there full speed, even to Microsoft servers, also if anybody else is using your connection that will slow it down to, even if you have devices connected but not using it,
    also if you wireless there will be an over head for that also.

    Its all about your connection speed. Pretty much all Xbox One games have a game update when you first install them. These updates can vary from a few hundred Megabytes to several Gigabytes. The console will always download the update first before installing
    the data from the Blu-ray game disc. If your connection speed is low, it may take some time to get the update.

    If all you want to do is play single player, disconnect your console from the Internet, install the game disc and play while still offline. You can install the game update later. If you set the console to 'Instant On' game updates will download while the
    console is in a low power state.

    Its the same with downloading full games from the Xbox One Store. Xbox One games vary in size from a few hundred Megs (Minecraft) to 50GB + for Halo MCC.

    Not had any slow downloads myself, but then I'm on 120 Mb/s (megabits) connection from Virgin Media.

    50 minutes is good, especially done wireless. It will be slightly quicker wired.

    Its all based around your broadband connection. I live out in the country so only receive a 4Mbps broadband speed. My full installation of Fifa 15 took around 18 hours, so count yourself lucky!

    Lol 50 mins is quick !! There's people on here with poor internet connection where it takes 10+ hours to download !!

    It is quick but the files its installing are much bigger...it does get frustrating...maybe get an external drive with a quicker read write speed
