    xbox one install games from disc takes forever


    Just got an xbox one on Friday, went to install Kinect sports rivals and it took over 2 hours to fully install (even just the install until playable was about 40 minutes).

    not even the xbox 360 took that long to install a disc (usually 15 minutes or less)

    Is it supposed to take that long, or did I just get a crappy console out of the box and need to get a replacement asap?

    Hi Forever.

    The next game you load onto your ONE... disconnect from XBox LIVE first.

    Then let the game install.

    Then reconnect to the internet and let the updates happen.

    It takes longer when it's trying to install the disc and the game at the same time.

    Hi all!

    Quick question. I've just bought Battlefield Hardline from the XBOX ONE store. However its taking forever to install xbox one install games from disc takes forever :(

    My friend has the game on disc, If i was to use his disc to install would this work as i've already purchased this from the store?

    I can understand your worries, but usually, even if installing from a disc, the one checks for updates on the game while installing it and download them prior to the installation and this may cause the duration used. You may speed up installations by disconnecting
    the one from the Internet but then you will have to update the game as soon as you start it while being connected.

    Whats up with these install times?

    I have the discs, I dont like to download digital games, well at least my ps4 lets me play while its installing, My xbox one is taking forever to just get to the point to let me play while its installing. the system just restarted its self and is now reinstalling
    the game from the start, is this a problem with the system? or is it normal for it to take this long?

    If you have fast internet then it won't matter but some people have slow connection it takes forever to download just better to install from disc

    This is very normal. If you have data caps on your internet you are better off buying games on disc when possible because it will save on your data usage. However, installing from disc can take forever, if you do not disconnect your console from the internet
    before doing it because any updates that the game needs fight against the installation.
