Xbox One: India Day One Experience

Hi All,

This must be a small community but it would be good to share the India Day One experience. I got mine from Amazon on 23rd September (Xbox One + Kinect). Had been waiting for more than 3 months for the release. Wasn't disappointed. My favourites are Kinect
Sports and Dance Central Spotlight. Have lost weight already!

I was trying to set up power backup (UPS) and was humbled by the 16 amp plug. I just hope that Xbox One doesn't consume that amount of power and this was a simple oversight on MS's part. I look forward to a 5/6 amp connector. A standard C13 cable for Desktop
should also work but I plan to talk to India support just to be sure that I don't fry my console or void my warranty.

Others please share your experience.

Xbox one Goldrush 2 free games download codes not yet received.

I live in India and my gamertag is also set for India since the time i joined xbox live 4 years back. I use indian currency indian marketplace and this offer was for Xbox live India. That's why that offer was saying log in with your new xbox one console
after 1st October 2014 because xbox one launched in india on 23rd September, that's the day i bought it. I have logged in everyday and yes to the Indian xbox live on Xbox one also.

In addition to the previous answers, they may also not have Live for the One available in India right away, which may very well result in a severely inferior experience. Not recommended.

 

Hopefully all works out for you. Where are you originally from if not India? How many games are available there? Does the X1 seem popular there?

 

I am from India all right. I checked out if setting locale to US helped anything and I could see tons of games in the store that have not been released for India. Games in the US are also less expensive at prevailing exchange rates. X1 is not popular here
because there are very few games available and several services like Xbox Music and Xbox Video don't exist in India. Total number of Xbox apps available in India is 10-15. Kinect has a tough time recognizing Indian accents. Live Gold doesn't have any benefits.
Xbox Nex-gen in India is definitely premature to purchase without good enough games and apps. I think I would have been better off buying a top-end gaming PC instead. I have ~75 games on Steam but got lured into buying Xbox due to Kinect which is sadly dead
given flip-flop by MS.

Regarding power backup, I called MS and they told me that so long as the power adapter light turns yellow or while all was ok. I purchased a Desktop power cable with three slots and it fit perfectly in the power adapter. Connected it with my power backup
system and all works well. I wish that they could have bundled the right cables in the first place though.

 

Update: I could see Games with Gold and Deals with Gold on the India Locale now. Following are the games for this month:

- Crimson Dragon

- Chariot

Also saw some games with Deals:

- Lego Movie Game

- Lego Superheros

- Metal Gear Solid V

and a couple of others. The discounts keep changing frequently.

The price is similar to that on competing platforms but it's great to see some attention.

 

They are the same games on sale here. The games with deals change every Tuesday.

Just Dance 2015, a similar game being released on October 21st. (The earlier
Just Dance 2014 is probably available for a great sale price now, I would think)

Are there any other great "Kinect Only" games that you would recommend?
