  2. XBox One on monitor with no built in speakers?

I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I just got my Xbox One, and want to hook it up to my monitor. My monitor doesn't have built in speakers, so I am wondering how to hook up speakers to my xbox to get sound? My monitor is an older one, an Acer X223Wbd. I'm using this older one for now until I save up enough for the one I really want. I am using a DVI to HDMI connector to hook up the monitor to my Xbox One.

    Audio

So i've been trying to hook up an xbox one to a monitor I just recently got, I can get video and everything but no sound. My monitor (SE2416H) Doesn't have an audio port, is there any way I can get sound?

    Hi Mayxze,

The sound is transmitted through the HDMI cable so you may need an audio receiver in between the monitor and your Xbox. Would you mind explaining how you have the Xbox set up to your monitor and are the speakers external or internal from the monitor?

You may need to find some speakers that connect using the optical S/PDIF port in the back if your monitor does not have internal speakers.

Here is how to set up your Xbox to an audio receiver:

    I hope this helps!

Hey Mayxze thanks for keeping in touch!

We suggest looking into plugging the speakers or headphones with a > (3.5mm jack) into the Xbox One Controller since this would push the sound out through the speakers. Hope this helps, if not, let us know so we can get this ironed out!

I think I'll have to use one converter, Digital do Optical sound, then i connect the XOne and the Speakers

    Hi Mayxze,

Do your speakers support optical input? If they do then all you would need is an optical cable to directly connect your Xbox to the speakers. A lot of the larger, theatre type speakers have optical inputs. If not then you would need a converter for the optical
cable to connect to your speakers.

Another solution is to get some more portable speakers with a 3.5 mm connection and connect it to your controller. There are a lot of them on the market that are not that expensive.
