    xbox one in instant-on mode, but doesn't seem to download while it's off


    my console is in instant on mode, but I turned it off with a game 5% downloaded, and it was still at 5% when i turned it back on an hour later, what gives?

    How do I set my Xbox One to turn itself off after downloading a game?

    Just download it while it's 'off' needs to be in instant on mode though

    The Xbox One isnt downloading while on standby mode.

    I just bought my Xbox One yesterday with the Gears of War UE Bundle and been trying to download it all night. But it seems its not downloading while the system is off unlike the 360. I have set the system in Instant On mode it says it downloads while off
    but its not for me.

    Hi, It only downloads system updates using instant on. Game downloads and dlc the require the console to be on until it's finished.

    The 360 never downloaded stuff while off. It put purchases in a queue for you then when you turned the console on it started the downloads for you.

    that is absolutely not true, I know for a fact I could put things in my queue on 360, turn it off, and they would download in a standby mode and turn off when it was finished.

    I agree with Qalbert. It would always download games when I hit the power button.

    Hey sooB, we're working on this issue and have even engaged directly with Virgin to work with them on testing.

    Power cycling the Virgin box (by pulling the cord) while connected to the Xbox One doesn't work? What about turning off instant on mode, going to low power mode?

    Ok.. It seems that the play and Charge kit does charge the play & Charge battery with the Xbox One in instant on mode, as the light on the charger cable is still on after I turned the xbox one off (into instant on mode)... but still I'm wondering about the

    yes that's what I'm trying to tell you, instant on mode does not work. When I put it in instant on mode and I uncheck if Xbox is off turn off storage. That way when I turn the Xbox off I don't want the external storage to turn off but it seems to do that
    anyways. When I turn off the Xbox to download the DLCs or updates whatever, the power light on the power supply is white, the network is still trying to download the files because I could still see the network switcher blinking but the external hard drive
    is not powered on. So yes I know all about the instant on and the energy mode.

    Auto Restart on Downloads after forced stop due to network

    Go into Settings

    Turn Power mode to Instant-on,

    Uncheck the box when xbox is off, turn off storage.

    This should allow you to turn off your console and it will continue to download while you sleep. This is what I do with large game downloads.
