XBOX ONE in game sound problem

Hey guys I'm having a little problem with my XBOX ONE. The problem is that sometimes when I'm playing a game and I decide to launch another app (Say Skype or Upload app) and when I go back to the game, the sound seems to disappear.

The Sound only disappears for games and not the Dashboard itself because when this issue occur, I try to go in and out of other apps and the sound seem to be working fine there.

It happened to me 3 times in a month. On the third one, I kept playing the game with the sound issue and it started to have frame rate drops in the game. I restarted my Xbox and it got fixed.

I'm a little curious about this issue. Has it happened to other guys too?

Xbox one game DVR problem......no sound

Hey XBL brothers. As the title says, I am having some issues with game DVR of XBOX ONE. The issue is when I want to record videos, it does without recording sound and when the sound actually gets recorded, it's out of sync. Really need some help. thanks

Same problem, try a hard restart, hold the button on Xbox console till it goes right off, then pull the power suply out, after a few minutes turn it through the button.

I hope that is a hard restart because that's what I do but it does not always work

If I do the hard restart wrong say, if there is better ways pleas say below

I haven't seen anything with this issue so far. One thing that you could check is your audio mixer settings. Go into settings > Display & Sound > Sound Mixer

This controls the volume of the main screen and a snapped app, and you can adjust the levels here.

Just make sure that it isn't set to have full volume on your snapped app and no sound on the main screen.

This may not be the issue, but one thing you can look at pretty quickly to eliminate that possibility.

Sound Mixer is set to be equal on both sides.

Try a Hard Shutdown (hold the xbox icon on the console until system shuts down) then unplug the console for 10 mins and then plug and turn back on and see if the issue comes back.

If the above solution doesnt fixed it, you can also try a factory reset choosing keep all games and apps
and this will do only a refresh to the operative system. You can find all info here:

Just remember to choose keep all games and apps to not lose your games or apps that are installed.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.
