Xbox One imported from other region

Each Xbox One console is manufactured for a specific Blu-ray and DVD region, following international standards. The Xbox One console can play Blu-ray discs and DVDs that are sold in the same region as the console.

Some Blu-ray discs and DVDs are not region-encoded or are coded to all regions. Region-free Blu-ray discs and DVDs will play on any Xbox One console.

Each xbox is region locked like the DVD's - you will not be able to play imported games from other regions (unless you own an xbox from that region).

@ Malacath, I know that the 360 was region-locked as well, but it was region-locked in a different sense, so lets you couldnt redeem european MS points on a US account, or that you couldnt play games locked to other regions, you had to play games locked
to your region etc, but with the xbox 360 you could import a day one console from a use it on day one even if it wasnt released in your country yet, with the xbox one you cant do that, thats a major difference, there are only 21 release countries, while the
others will have to wait for months maybe vene longer before its released in their country, with no import possibility, why cant a polish developer of lets say the witcher 3 (a game that ms showcased at e3) import a day one console from e.g. its neighboring
country Germany (both EU member states, thus part of one regional economic unit with a single common market free movement of goods, services and people) and play witcher 3 in the country that developped the game before it is release there, because xbox one
blocks import.... and withing one single EU market.... thats ridiculous... the bad thing for microsoft beingt that the ps4 version of thw witcher can be played in poland before its release there if someone imports it from another country wherever, so please
dont come preaching with your region-locking is a common practice type of argumentation, this completely different than in the case of the 360, how is a globalist agent and defender of a free market like MS want do defend import-regulations?

only xbox one disc games are region free but as confirmed with other content the online content is region locked still as international laws still apply

basically you can import a console and games

but your account region may not be supported for online game purchases

the main problem with the region-lock is not really caused by locking movies, games etc., (this is a pretty common practice already at work with the 360), the newer dimension of this problem with xbox one is that the region-lock is extended to the impossibility
to import and use an xbox one in other than the 21 intitial release countries
