Xbox One image distortion (flickering image with blue lines)

For the past few days I have unsuccessfully searched the web for help on a issue I'm having with my Xbox image. I recently moved my Xbox One into my home theater where I encountered image flickering with blue lines going across the screen. Through the process
of elimination, I have discovered that the problem only happens with the Xbox being connected via HDMI to my Yamaha AV-2030 receiver. What is bothersome is that I have 3 other devices including a ps4 connected to my Yamaha with no issues.

Basic things I've tried.

Hard reset by pushing the Xbox button for 10 second. Also unplugged the Xbox.

Switching HDMI cables and ports on Xbox and reciever (as noted above).

Unplugging the HDMI on one of my other devices from the reciever to see if somehow they are interfering.

More details

When switching the Xbox One resolution to 720p, (while not acceptable) the problem goes away.

When switching the Xbox One to RGB the issue lessons by 50% but is still there.

While I do experience the flickering and blue lines while playing games, the distortion is much worse and frequent in the Xbox dashboard.

The problem happens more than not...but it is not consistent. Sometimes it goes away after a bit..but is mostly interfering.

This issue does not exist when plugged straight into my Sony projector.

Both my reciever and Xbox are running the latest software.

Others have posted about this happening with their receivers but I never saw a resolution.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

Update on 2/16 has messed up my color

Yeah solid color flickering was the signs of death of my first 360s image encoding and scaling chip. Do you have a slim or an original 360?

Custom Profile Image

Hi,

I have a problem with my custom xbox profile image. Maybe someone can give me a tip.

When I select an image on XBox One, Xbox One X or XBox iOS App the image is uploaded without error message. All friends see my new image BUT on my own devices the new image is not shown. It works with predefined images on my devices BUT not with a custom
image. I've tried it with dozens images, all at least 1080x1080px. And as I said: My friends see the new custom picture. Any ideas?

Additional Info: I have a custom user image on my Microsoft Account. I want the same image on my XBox devices.

Sorry you're having issues with your video. When changing out HDMI cables did you change cables for both the Xbox going into the receiver and then the receiver going into the TV? I have seen from experience that HDMI cables are often the culprit for
these issues. Also, as the Xbox is working with no issues with other devices we know that this issue does not lie with the Xbox itself. As such, I would check with the OEM of your receiver and see if there are any firmware updates and/or settings that could
be interfering with the signal passing through from the Xbox to your television.

Thanks for the reply. It turns out my 25ft HDMI cable going to from the projector to the receiver is to long for the Xbox one. I have a HDMI repeater that fixed the issue. Thanks for helping me find a fix.

You should also check out this other semi-general thread another user posted some time ago with a similar problem. Except in place grey image distortion their problem was blue image distortion.

Another good thing to consider and try would be by putting your TV on cable or some other video settings like hooking up a DVD/Blu-Ray player to the TV and see if you experience the grey image distortion in those media styles as well. If you do, consider
editing you TV's picture settings manually by resetting things like brightness, sharpness, and saturation in your TV's settings.

There's also an Xbox Support display troubleshooter you may find handy if the other link and suggestion doesn't aid in solving the problem.

Thank you for coming to the forums for help with your issue

If your HDMI Cable moves any in any of the spots it is either your HDMI Port on You're TV or its the Cable itself now I am aware you have stated you have tried several cables but that does not however stop the Ports either in Your TV or console from going
or the brighter side it may even be a little glitch that will get sorted out in its own time

The second alternative try Hard restarting your xbox (hold the power button for 10 seconds until the console turns off and then wait 10 seconds and then power it back on) and hopefully it will sort it out for you.

I have tried with 3 different hdmi cable and 2 different tv. Also i have tried different hdmi channel in both TV. Regarding if my xbox is updated I think that the answer is yes due to I play every day and always I play online mode. For that reason, I think
that mi xbox have the las update
