I have recently suffered insanely long install times on my xbox one. I've perused countless posts but I haven't seen anyone, xbox rep or fellow consumer, provide a reasonable explanation or fix. I attempted to download and install Ark: Survival evolved last
night around 8:00. It's now 5:30 pm the next day, almost a full 24 hours and the game is at 64%. This is a problem unique only to the xbox one itself. None of my other devices suffer from this hideous snail like install. As a reference I purchased the game
on steam today for my PC, the download and install took just under 2 hours. Same game, same wireless network. I've tried all the troubleshooting suggestion, I've hooked the brokebox up to the router/modem directly and still no improvement. This has been typical
for the xbox for all my games for the past 6 months. Quantum break, all the free games, doom. I even had a friend bring his ps4 over for doom a day after I started my install. His installed on his ps4 on THE SAME network, my network, the same day in about
4 hours. This has to be someone at microsoft specifically hindering or throttling my xbox connectivity, and that seems like I should take legal recourse. I've contacted customer support multiple time, I have emailed transcripts, I've had phone conversations
with people who spoke broken English and no one has any answers. I've seen a few sensationalized news stories where some abused customer sued their ISP for this kind of activity and honestly I just want my xbox to work. I pay for it, I've been an xbl subscriber
for over 10 years and an avid gamer for far longer. Other than simply not pay for anything microsoft related ever again I can't think of what else to do, and that's not an answer, I have friends I play with, my fiance even owns an xbox and we play online,
I don't want to not be able to play what I pay for but Microsoft is essentially stealing from me right now and no one has an answer.

    :)

Try doing a hard reset exactly like this. I have had it work for a number of gamers. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug
the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!!

  5. I guess I didn't mention it in my original post and I feel like it's gonna come back to bite me so I'll amend that post haste. I have tried ALL the troubleshooting steps, if you've ever talked to customer support you'd understand my reticence to reiterate
that fact. I've had to repeatedly tell them that I've perused all the troubleshooting steps and preformed all the procedures multiple multiple multiple times. As I stated this has been happening for over half a year. Hard reset, reset the modem, bought a new
modem, changed server ip, connected directly to the modem, added ports, changed and reset nat types. I've had a disgusting amount of connection issues as well as far as party chat d/c, getting booted from games and such but since that's been typical of xbox
since conception what can you do, it has been much worse as of late however.

Have you tried a wired connection with your xbox?

I had a similar issue with mine and it turned out the wireless card in mine was starting to go bad

sounds like a router issue to me , some don't play well with xbox one....what is the brand and model # ? ....if it came from your isp , that's probably it...

  9. No, it's not the router as I explicitly explained in my original post. I download games off of steam on my pc using THE SAME router on THE SAME network and there is no comparison. a 30 gig game on my pc, just under an hour, 30 gig game on xbone? 3 DAYS!!!
I started downloading the newest Naruto game an hour ago at the same time as my fiance on her xbone on a different network. Hers is finished, mine is at 2%. This has to be xbox, there is no other explanation. Not when the only console affected is the xbox
one itself. My tablet, my computer even my phone all download files quickly, as quick as my internet speed allows. But the xbox? no, I mean no one can argue that 3 days for a game install is just blatantly and aggressively illegal. I am paying for a service
and microsoft is not providing that service, that IS stealing. I don't need a technical fix or a suggestion, what I really need now is someone to provide me with a lawyer who will take a case wherein the terms of a legal contract (between myself and microsoft)
are being and have been being violated. I mean at the time of my writing this I have been downloading a game that should, according to my isp and speed tests, according even to microsoft by it's handy dandy little cheat sheet/graph ,should have been downloaded
and installed by now. According to math, something I am good at, I should be playing this right now. But I am not irritated that it's been an hour, I am irritated that it's going to take another TWO DAYS! It's not a technical issue any more, if it ever was,
it' a legal issue. I'm just sick of paying and paying for a service, for games, that should be a source of fun and relaxation instead being a source of constant, consistent irritation.

  10. other devises working have NOTHING to do with whether or not xbox can get a stable connection on the same router....some routers (mostly isp issued and especially gateways ) don't work well with xbox one , some don't work at all....if you have a friend
with an xbox one that works well you could try it on his network to be sure but the router is the bad guy here imo..... if you want a lawyer though like you said , then you should go to a legal website .....

Legal threats are against the xbox terms of use and code of conduct and such action may remove you from the forums permanently it's best to chose your words carefully if you require support.

    Xbox Code of Conduct

  12. Sounds to me like there are to many devices attached to that router, well on your way to burning it out.

smh, idk why I even bother typing these things out as none of you commenters read any of them. Aside from the fact that you can't "Burn a router out" by having multiple devices attached to it I have already stated that the router is new and bought from a
3rd party not provided by the isp. And it's asinine to assume that all these devices are connected to it at once I mean honestly, use your brain. TROUBLE SHOOTING, for those of you who obviously don't understand the term means you try any and all tech fixes,
this includes connecting each device one at a time to the network to see how download and upload speeds are affected. Then connecting the xbox and one device, then trying a different one and a different one after that. And bimnog, if you're just going to keep
saying the same thing over and over please stop commenting. It's not the router. The router that I bought is the same router my friend bought and his xbox doesn't have these issues. Not to mention this is the third router I've tried. We are not talking about
"maintaining a stable connection" we ae talking about an xbox connected to the internet that is not downloading files as fast as it should be. It'n not the isp and due to overtly meticulous troubleshooting I know it's not the router or network I am on because
how fast other devices download files DOES impact how my xbox should be working, it has better hardware, it should be going faster if aything. I've also stated that I have had another xbox console hooked up to this network, it doesn't download any faster.
So, once again, IT IS TAKING DAYS TO DOWNLOAD GAMES THAT TAKE HOURS ANYWHERE ELSE. I am sorry you can't grasp this concept but the xbox one has more processing power and a better wireless card than my computer, ergo the hardware dictates that it should download
FASTER than the other devices hooked up to my network. Not to mention the fact that I have already said I have tried a wired connection to the brokebox, it doesn't go any faster. I can't make this any clearer, it's not the router or network, it MAY be the
xbox itself but I've chatted 7 times with support, I have 4 transcripts of chats and I'm sure the other three phone conversations were recorded, not that you can understand anything the support guys are saying since they are from some country that obviously
doesn't even know what bad or broken english is. I can't get a new xbox, it wasn't an option to send mine in, so I am either stuck with a broken console or someone has some anecdotal info they can provide. Obviously if I need a lawyer I should contact a legal
office, but this is less about finding legal help and more about hoping that someone at microsoft will do the right thing and start helping people who have given them tens of thousand of dollars.

And as for purplenurp, I haven't made any legal threats, I've questioned weather this activity is legal on microsofts part and asked for both technical and legal help. However You pretending to be a moderator or other xbox officiate IS against microsoft
policy and WILL get you banned from the forums, you may want to peruse your own posted links.

  14. Obviously you can tell by my lengthy replies I have a lot of time, time that would otherwise be spent playing video games. Games I pay for and expect to be able to play which I can't because I am being provided with service so abyssal yet paying for service
that should be beyond optimal. What I don't understand however is this, we've all been in similar situations with games, companies,, microsoft, sony whatever. At least those of us who have been gaming as long as I have, over 25 years. And I can understand
why there are so many pre teens and children who shoot off online because, hey, that's what kids do. But I can't understand why seemingly rational people are so quick to defend these companies that constantly take advantage of the fact that we will continue
to pay them to do things we love and yet they provide us with service like this. Or lack thereof. Why defend these practices? I understand maybe my original post came off to strong, or sounded petulant or just struck the wrong cord with some people. But regardless
of it's presentation the message is the same, we are getting *** by these companies and instead of doing anything about it all the gaming community seems to do is belligerently belittle people who speak out, or simply speak about a problem.

It's this crazy behavior that stalls any progress we gamers might eventually make towards holding devs and producers responsible for putting out the trash they do and expecting us to pay for it. Games like destiny that, although finally have come around,
made their game with the intent to rip people off. Maybe not you specifically but many many people paid over 150 dollars for that game to be able to play it in it's entirety. And titanfall, a huge letdown that was over hyped and provided us with a meager amount
of content yet charges us 65 or in some cases 85 dollars. And we paid it, not only did we pay it but those of us who spoke out against it at the time were ripped apart by the gaming community, the same community that now says, "yup, those were bad games, or
they *** us". Of course it's not just gamers, but in my life, nowhere is it more prevalent than the gaming community, but it makes me sad that were all gamers and were all basically in the same boat, but we can't work together to stop these kind of awful practices.

And the most common excuses are the biggest cop outs, "oh it didn't happen to me", or "I have money so it doesn't bother me", or "go outside and read a book". We are an entire community of gamers, intelligent people (for the most part) yet we can't be
more civil to each other than the most foul mouthed 8 year old in a CoD game? It's shameful.
