Xbox One - If OneDrive is gone, why do some features still use it?

Back in 2017 i uploaded over 500 xbox clips/screenshots to onedrive and ive recently gone back on (to onedrive) to reminisc as it were and theres only about 60 screenshots and 50 clips. is it just lag or what?

Hi, i also used to use onedrive to store things like game clips and stuff on the cloud but if i remember correctly they made some changes to the onedrive storage options and reduced the amount of free storage they offered and i ended up paying for some extra
storage to keep my items backed up... i cant remember exactly what year it was but i remember the storgage limit being reduced so it could be possible that when they made the changes you may have lost some clips and screenshots due to being over the new limit.

I wonder why this wasn't more widely communicated.

I had hundreds of photos from when I first upgraded to Windows 10 saved to there automatically and I could still keep everything in there though, which is weird about this one.

The easiest way to customize (other than the colour options in settings) is to upload photos to your OneDrive account. You can upload JPGs and PNGs to your OneDrive account, then open the OneDrive app on your Xbox, and it gives you the option to set it
as the background for the Xbox One home screen. Honestly with that feature and the ability to pick colours, you can fully customize your Xbox (better even yet if you have some photoshop skills)

There's a couple possibilities I could think of that happened. If you didn't wait for your videos to finish uploading before deleting them off the Xbox (I'm guilty of this one), when you deleted them off the Xbox you chose to also delete them off OneDrive(I've
done this one as well), your OneDrive may not have had enough space for your videos or your OneDrive account wasn't linked properly. Unfortunately there's no way to see as they're gone but you may want to check to see if OneDrive is linked properly and also
check to see how much storage you have available. If you happen to have a spare external hard drive around you can use one to be dedicated for your captures so you'll know they'll always be there. I'm sorry to hear you lost some videos but I'm sure you'll
have plenty of chances to make some more memories.

Seriously BUMP. I also used the feature as a wishlist for future purchases and now it's gone. Why oh why.
