XBOX ONE - I still paid for games with gold "free" game... HELP?!

Hello everyone,

I need your help.

As I do every month I downloaded some of the free games they give you when you have a gold membership.

Amongst them was 'Q.U.B.E. 2', and today I noticed I actually paid around €25 for the game.

I was wondering if there would be any chance for me to get my money back since it should have been free anyway, and if somebody knows what to do best next?

i want to know are you making xbox live gold free? and when will i be able to play free online games on xbox one?

No. They are not making Xbox Live Gold free. They are only make games that are "free to play" such as fortnite for example, not require you to have gold to play online.

Other games that are not "free to play" will still require a paid Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to play them online.

There is no date announced yet for when free to play games could be played online without gold.

free trials do NOT make you gold it just allows you to play online in some games mainly the one that came in the game. you still need a PAID gold account to get stuff like the free games with gold sorry.

Paying for xbox live gold will never go away. The price might change but it will still be around. I do wish free to play games were actually free to play. You can keep the paid dlc because that helps support the games.

Xbox Live Gold is the paid subscription for the overall service of Xbox Live. Since you need Xbox Live Gold to play online and access the deals and Free Games with Gold you get every month, "Gold" and "Live" are generally used synonymously. Whatever Free
Game with Gold you downloaded when you first put in the free trial should still be playable with your active paid subscription granted you first claimed the game on the same account you started the trial to the one you are using now to play the games with
the active Gold subscription. Any free game you claimed with the Gold subscription can only be played with an active Gold subscription.

Forza Horizon 4 is a game you get with an active Xbox Game Pass subscription and not an Xbox Live Gold subscription. Forza Horizon 4 was never available as a Free Game with Gold. King's Quest is a free game in general and has always been listed as free so
anyone can get this game for free if they have an Xbox One console with or without an Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Xbox Live Gold basically gives you 3 main things. Multiplayer and chat capabilities with friends or other players over the internet, Deals with Gold, and Free Games with Gold.
