    Hi,

    I have a brand new Xbox One with two new controllers and from day one, I have been unable to get my mic on my headphones to work. I CAN hear my friends, they cannot hear me.

    I have already done the following:

    1. Power cycled console

    2. Checked that my mic is on

    3. Checked my mic on a different device (it functions)

    4. Gone into audio settings and messed with different levels

    5. Checked audio privacy settings for xbox live

    6. Assigned my controllers to my profile

    7. Tried 4 different headsets with mics

    among other things that I am probably not thinking of...

    Nothing has worked.

    When my headset is connected, it shows like it should work and that a mic is there (and not muted). If I click on the volume control on my headset, my friends say they hear a popping noise each time I click and my profile illuminates like sound is coming
    through. I've held it down and tried to talk but that doesn't do anything either. I have spent at least 3 hours of researching and trouble shooting and I am at a complete loss here. Please help!!

    The mic that’s on my headphones. I have bose and i tried apple and some others as well. Directly into the 3.5mm audio jack. Mic works on all headphones when plugged into my phone.

    Are you using official controllers and are you plugging direct into jack socket?

    Hi. Thanks for responding. The headset which worked for the first 5 months was a BUTFULAKE Gaming Headset SL-300.
    You can hear through the headset but the mic stopped working (can still hear though). We then purchased a Turtle Beach Ear Force XO Three headset; can hear through the headset but mic doesn't. Don't know if this is true but son says when moving/tampering with
    the mic others can hear the noise that creates but when my son speaks into the mic others cannot hear him.

    I have a turtle beach px21 headset and purchased the xbox one headset adapter. The stereo sound is coming through really well, but the mic isn't working with it. Is this a known issue or is my headset mic not compatible with the xbox one?
