    Xbox One Hulu App closed captioning won't turn off


    This is an odd problem, and really it's a moot problem, because I can just watch the shows on my computer, but it's aggravating me because it shouldn't do this! When I try to watch ANY show on Hulu, I get these weird yellow-font captions at the bottom.
    If I bring up the console on screen, and go to CC for Closed Captions, it shows that it's turned off. If I turn it on, then I get two sets of captions, one white and one yellow. The closed captioning under the Ease of Access setting on the Xbox One itself
    is turned off. I don't know what else to check. I logged into my Hulu.com account on my computer to check if it happens there, but it does not. I also cannot find any default CC setting in my Hulu.com account. On the Xbox One, this only happens with Hulu,
    and not any other app. It also does not happen on the Xbox 360. Any thoughts? Has anybody else had this issue? I'm pretty much ready to just delete the Hulu app, remove it from my activated programs in my Hulu.com account, and start over.

    NFL App

    Not able to turn off the Closed Captioning (cc) on the NFL app. Very Annoying with the delayed wording running across the screen and blocking the Video feed. Does anyone know how to disable the Closed Captioning feature in the NFL App?

    Can't turn off closed captions

    I tried StativeBeatle65's solution and it worked for me!

    Open the YouTube app.. Open a video [the YouTube trends video worked for me].. Press A to bring up the video controls... On the far right of that menu, select the CC button. Select Turn Off Closed Captioning. Exit the app. You're done!

    This helped me turn off Closed Captioning in NHL Gamecenter on an Australian Xbox.

    Xbox One Hulu App closed captioning won't turn off

    EDIT: I uninstalled the Hulu app from my Xbox One, deleted the stored info on my console, and then reinstalled the app. It didn't help. The other, unknown, captions were still there. I am officially at a loss. Anybody have any ideas?

    I have been trying to figure this out for MONTHS! It's more of a nuisance than anything else but I wish it would just stop already. I don't have any advice to give you because I'm still dealing with this too. If anyone out there has a fix, please help!

    Netflix Xbox one, randomly turns on closed captioning.

    Sorry to bump this old thread but this happens to me all the time.

    Basically using Crackle on Xbox One makes the closed captioning turn on in the Settings.

    Here's how it plays out:

    1. Closed Captions off in Xbox One Settings

    2. I use Crackle

    3. I make no change to internal Crackle apps settings

    4. I jump to Netflix

    5. Closed Captions in Netflix Apps are now on and Closed Captions in Xbox One Settings are On.

    I haven't been able to figure out a solution to this, but I'm wondering if anyone else can duplicate it.

    Can't turn off closed captions

    Okay I think I found a fix. Go into the Youtube App in Xbox 360 and find a video with closed captions. I just searched "closed caption" and chose the first video. Closed captions automatically came on, so I pressed "A" and went to "CC" on the option bar
    and clicked to turn captions off.

    Went into Gamecenter Live and the captions were gone!

    Hi, check your tv settings for something named Closed Captions or something similar and turn that off. Also check the closed captions option on the xbox itself.

    Netflix subtitles always on

    Go to settings on xbox one. Select closed captioning and set to "closed caption off". I think it was on by default this is system wide setting affects all apps. This will sort your issue.
