Xbox One how long until majority of people have made the switch?

@WILKO. I think most people are past caring. Doubt many will be bothered by your console preference tbh.

 

Mantis, what about Dragon Age 3, Assassins Creed Unity, Sunset Overdrive, maybe Evolve or Alien Isolation? None of those intrigue you? Or even Project Spark maybe a long shot

 

@Goatsnatcher- Nah, Wilko's right. I understand it's an Xbox forum but I've seen dude get attacked for talking about the PS3 and his love for JRPG's. Meanwhile he's one of the most benign posters I see on this site. There's a lot of fanboys around here,
whether they want to admit it or not. If you're not as willing to take part in the giant circle jerk, you get nailed to the cross.

 

It's a pointless argument. I'm not worried to admit I'll get a PS4.....granted that it probably won't be for a year or 2. I do plan to own both though eventually.

 

I think most people who are going to already have, next batch would be Xmas since it's already July.

 

There is so many different reasons & times people can switch over. I haven't asked many of the people on my list who haven't done it yet as to why. I know for some it is a money issue, the types of gamers who usually wait a year or 2 before they upgrade.
It is very selfish of me but sometimes I wish they would just shut down XBL on 360 to make certain friends go nuts & have to upgrade.

All that I know is that I've been putting videos on YouTube for friends to watch & when they do upgrade they will see first hand how much better the games are.

However, I'm not going to get on their cases that much because the console is in a constant state of improvement with updates & how it was on November 2013 will be different then in 2014 or 2015. Hell, it is different just within 7-8 months already.

I also don't think many hardcore 360 gamers went to PS4, I can understand strict PS3 gamers jumping on the PS4 quickly to get away from the PS3 as fast as possible tho.

Anyway, I'm curious to know what the dates will be when both 360 & PS3 go fully offline. The OX lasted pretty long for be dropped quickly, but the 360 is still wildly popular and see it going for years to come. And that should give us a good idea how long
XB1 servers will be up for, even longer.

 

I'm sure when you buy your Wii U, everyone will be accepting. ;-) Heck, I may even buy one for the new Zelda.

Now to stay on topic...I believe this upcoming Christmas will be a turning point for people going next gen.

If the battery life on the WiiU tablet controller was longer I would buy one, it has and will have even more great games eventually, I will probably get a PS4 this year.

My stance on the Xbox one has softened somewhat, it has gone from "not a chance in hell" to "it's probably never going to happen, but I won't rule it out completely" that's a big shift for me...

Long list of reasons why. And the more I research into it, the more reasons I find every week to opt out on both *next gen consoles. No matter what games are developed for them. Far too much corporate greed, even from game devs for me to give my hard earned
money to em any longer.

If corporate greed were the reason for me to not buy anything....I would have to grow my own food, make my own clothing, create my own electricity, build my own house, weave my own cloth (for clothes, sheets, etc), deliver my messages on foot, and the list
would go on, and on....have yet to run into companies that give me all those things for free, they all want to make money. Good on you Electro, I commend you.

 

I will make the switch when I finish a few games for the 360, plus I still haven't the funds, plus I'm still waiting for a few more updates to take place. and plus there isn't many games that I want for it. Im mainly waiting for Rainbow Six: Siege and New
Gears of War, and I hear that the Mass Effect series will get premastered, and the new Mass effect for the one. Once it gets closer to launch for these games. I will totally get it (and if course If I have the money).

 

When Microsoft terminates Xbox Live support for Xbox 360.

 

I have a few 360 freinds who partied regular still waiting to make the switch, they would of day 1 for sure but some people just dont have the spare cash, they have been looking recently with the great deals available, which is why i have no probs with the
price drops, i want my buds to be able to afford and enjoy the xbox one like me.

 

At least two to three years would be my guess.

No doubt at least a few folk are sticking with the 360 after being told again and again that graphics don't matter. If graphics don't matter, then at the moment there is no point in moving on to the Xbox One.

What is going to make people make the switch is when the game worlds become so expansive that the 360 simply wont be able to load those areas in a reasonable time.

At the moment, aside from improved graphics there really isn't a reason to move to the Xbox One.

I will make note of the features like gameplay recording and snap. Excellent features I am sure but from a gameplay standpoint, are they really that huge an incentive?

 

2016, possibly even 2017 I think. Next year we have some good next gen games coming, but I don't think the majority of 360 users will make the upgrade by then.
