Xbox One - Hook up to PC Monitor and TV with different inputs?

One of old TV's I had years ago only had two HDMI yet I owned four devices that needed connecting. I solved it with an HDMI switch box. With the switcher, I went from two to five ports. You can buy the switchers on-line or from most places that sell TV/monitors.
I bought mine for about £5.(about $10) from Amazon.

You just change input on the switcher.

You can hook your Xbox One up to a PC if it has an HDMI input.

I dont have a HDMI port in my monitor.

So I understand correctly you are trying to hook your Xbox to a Dell monitor.

You have the HDMI out going from the Out to TV port on the back of the Xbox and the other end hooked into one of the HDMI ports on the monitor (normally there is only one)?

Where you would change the input is at the monitor itself normally there is a button around the power button that says either input or source.

Normally when you hit this button it should bring up a box that shows the different inputs available. Depending on what types the monitor has could be (VGA, DVI, HDMI). So you would want to pick the HDMI option once selected if the Xbox is on then it should
pull the signal from the Xbox. The change of Input would not come from the Xbox console itself this is all done at the monitor.

Couple things and questions first.

Is this the first time you are hooking up this xbox to any tv?

Do you have the HDMI cable going directly to the TV or do you have it going through a A/V receiver?

When plugged in it is just showing NO Signal on the TV or a black screen?

If it is showing no signal on the TV that means its not getting a signal to the TV could be 1 of a couple different reasons:

1. Your tv is on the wrong input. Make sure that you have the TV tuned to the correct input.

2. There are 2 Different HDMI ports in the back of the xbox. One is an input that you can run your cable box or any other HDMI cable through so that you dont have to take up multiple HDMI ports on the tv.

The other is the Output to TV. You want to make sure that you have the HDMI cable going Out of the OUT to TV on the back of the XBOX.

3. If you have it running through an A/V receiver try and hook it directly to your tv and see if that changes anything if it does then it has something to do with your A/V receiver possibly it is even on the wrong input they have their different inputs just
like the TV also

It depends on your PC. HDMI output and HDMI input are two different things.

Often the HDMI ports on PCs are output only. They're intended to send information to another device like a monitor or TV. They usually don't accept input.

Your PC might be set up for HDMI input but if it's not settings then possibly not.
