    Xbox One Home Theater Setup Help


    Hi, I am recently having issues trying to get my Xbox One hooked up to an Onkyo Reciever. There is a projector in this setup but it is mounted on the ceiling in the main room. The reciever and cable box are in a closet. So nothing from the Xbox will be able
    to be plugged into the projector directly for the record. Anyways what im doing is plugging the HDMI in into my cable box like you normally would for TV. The issue I am having is where to plug the Xboxs HDMI out. There are 4 HDMI slots on the onkyo reciever,
    HDMI in 4, HDMI in 3 CBL/SAT, HDMI in 2 DVD/BD, HDMI in 1 (I forget the name of this one). I think the HDMI cable goes into CBL/SAT but I have no idea what to do when I get there. There are also A/V cables plugged under also these slots going to each specific
    thing such as CBL/SAT so should those be unplugged? Anyone know what to do here? Thanks.

    The Xbox One does not take that kind of input however it does have an optical port. You'll want to look at the

    home theater setup guide     for further assistance.

    Hello trickybuz93, thanks for posting in the forums to get some help. Information about connecting your xbox to a home theater can be found here:

    Bottom line is you need a separate optical cable to connect to a home theater system. The HDMI apparently doesn't carry the audio.
