Xbox One Home Sharing: console limit for games?

Hi!

So my fiancé and I both have XB1s (in the same room). We have been using the new Xbox One home sharing feature so he buys games on his console(ConsoleA) and I can install and play them simultaneously on my console(ConsoleB). Regardless of whether he is currently
playing, or if he's even signed in at all. This has been great for us and has saved us a lot of money that we have used to buy more new games. We used to have to buy 2 copies of everything we wanted to play together. However, now my brother(who lives far away
from us) just switched to XB1 from PS4 and is trying to access all the games on ConsoleA so he doesn't have to rebuy all of his games (like $1000 worth). He has set his console home to ConsoleA, been added as family and signed into said console. He has full
access to and can install all of the games but when he tries to play them he gets the error that he either needs to insert disk or buy the game. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is sharing limited to just 2 consoles? The Xbox Support representative
I spoke to said she couldn't find any info on limits and that it shouldn't be a proximity issue. Could it be because ConsoleA and B are on the same router? When I try to sign in with my profile on Console A I get the same error. Unless my fiancés live account
is also signed in...

You can change your home console up to 5 times every 12 months,which is more than enough.

If you have reached your 5 times limit then you will have to wait until the 12 months is up from the first time you changed your home console.

No one will reset the limit for you.

The home console feature is meant to be used in households with more than one console,not for sharing with your friends.

 

When I go into settings to make my Xbox one my home console and it won't allow me.

In order to prevent people from excessively sharing their game library with multiple people, the game publishers wanted to limit the amount of times games can be shared.

The Home Console sharing is normally only used to share your games with family members in your own home, but can be "abused" to share your games (and Gold membership) to a friend if you want to.

But you can only do that 5 times during 365 days (previously you could change the Home Console setting only 3 times).

If you reached that limit, you can try to contact the official support via
https://support.xbox.com/contact-us and hope they allow you one additional Home Console change. After that, you'll have to wait until 365 days have passed since the first Home Console change.

i am afraid he wont be able to play them, the way the sharing feature works means you can only use 2 consoles to share your games, the home console, that belongs to the purchasing account of the content and any other console so long as the account holder
of the purchased content is signed into xbox live on that console.

 

You can only share between 2 consoles. (That's why I didn't buy a 3rd Xbox One)
