Xbox One Home Console Switching Reset

Help! I game shared with my cousin almost a year ago because he didn't have any games and wanted gold membership benefits to play games like Destiny. Later on I game shared with another one of my cousins and a friend, but then they said that they didn't
need my profile anymore. Now, when I try to set my first cousins xbox as my home, it says that I've reached the limit and I can only switch my home console 3 times a year. None of us knew about this limit and my first cousin is really upset that he can't play
all the games and doesn't have gold. I read on other forums that MS can reset the limit. Please reset the limit for me.

Home Console Limit Reset

So I read that the home console switching is limited to 3 times during a one year period. im assuming this resets after said one year period is over. my question is, when does this one year period end? does it end 1 year from setting a home console for the
first time, or does it end at the actual new year, as in January 1st?

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forums, if you are attempting to reset your home console switches take a look at the following support article for more information.

How to designate an Xbox One console as your home Xbox

Once on the page look towards the end under the section titled: Can I change my home Xbox console to a different console? If you are out of switches this will show you how to get one more switch (if it has not yet been used) before your home console switches
resets itself.

If this does not help please provide a little more information so that we can provide further assistance.

Hello, I´m Jamie. an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

You can change which console is your home Xbox up to five times during a one-year period. This period works on a rolling basis, starting the moment you change your home Xbox for the first time. If you reach your limit of home console changes for the year, you’ll get a message letting you know the next available date you can change it.

If you wants/needs an additional Home Console Reset, Xbox now offers just one additional reset per year and it can only be earned directly on the console by completing a survey. Only if you are at 0 switches and eligible for one extra switch you will have the option to earn one more switch on their console.

Microsoft no longer have the ability to reset the counter for you or view your remaining switches.

You can find this go to settings > General > Personalisation > My home Xbox and click on “Need one more?"

the switches are for your home console only, sharing outside of your home is breach of the terms, you can only have one console as home console, you have to wait a year for them to reset.
