Xbox One "Home Console/Home Account" Feature,

Me and my friend have known each other for years, since we were little kids. Ever since Xbox one launched we have been game sharing. Recently I went on vacation for a few days, came back and had an update. Him and I are in the Preview Program together. I
got the update he did not. After I received the update I could not play ANY games he owned as it seemed like my console wasn't registering that his account was my home Xbox. I can only play with me being simultaneously logged in to both His account and mine.
I have talked to 2 techs and 1 Preview program tech and the last tech I talked to got it working, however it stopped letting him play MY games and DLC. Time passed then he proposed he check my account if it's doing the same thing, so he did. Now I can't play
his games again.

Family gold is gone now what?

to access Gold features.

If you had a second Xbox One in the house then you'd be able to play online but others, if they were Silver, would not. You'd need another Gold account to make it their Home Gold console to enable that.

So to enable Silver members to access Gold features on an Xbox One, each console will need a Gold account to make it their Home.

No he did not get an update, I contacted for him however the lady said wipe my xbox but keep games and apps and re-add the profiles and check. It worked but stopped working for my games on his xbox. And every tech told me to post in the forums and it'll
bring this matter to the devs.

He did check, he did not receive an update because it said no updates available or our console is up to date

Hi there,

there is not an option to share subscriptions in one household.

But since this is for 2 consoles, there is an alternate option.

You can use the Home console feature. If for example one of your kids accounts has a Gold subscription that account is able to use the Gold features on any console that is connected to Xbox Live.

That account is also able to assign one Xbox One console as their Home console, which will result that their Gold subscription is shared on that Home console, allowing other profiles on that Home console to use Gold features too.

This will also be the case for other subscriptions and for digital purchased games.

In your situation, if child A has a Gold console, and assigns console 1 as their Home console, child B (and any other profile) will be able to use Gold features on console 1.

Child A will be able to use Gold features on any other console as long as the console is connected to Xbox Live (Internet)

Keep in mind that if their is a Service issue or internet issue, digital purchased games can only be played on the account's Home console.

There is no Family Plan anymore.

The feature that they have now is called the Home Console. It a feature for each account and it allows you to set your account as the Home Console on one Xbox One and share out your subscription and digitally purchased games on the Xbox console that you
set your profile to be the Home Console on.

As long as one of the accounts has an active Gold subscription, and that account has that console set as it's 'Home' console, all other accounts on that console will have the benefits of a Gold membership. This feature is called
Home Gold.

The My Home Xbox feature is for use in a family within one house on one console with multiple accounts on it, it's not really meant for sharing between two houses.

To use the My Home Xbox feature like this you will need to log in with the account that owns the games/gold and make it the My Home Xbox on the console where the account will not be logging into often. This console will have all access to that account's
games and gold membership while it can log in on any other console without my home xbox and use the games and gold there as well.

Thank you for keeping us updated. The account that is sharing Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass can share the subscriptions to only one Xbox One at a time. Each account can switch their home console only five times per year. The article we provided contains
more details about the home console feature. The accounts that do not own the subscriptions must all be on the console that has the home console feature enabled.
