Xbox One:- High Speed Connection, Low Quality Broadcasting.

Hi.

I am a streamer on Mixer who broadcasts directly through Xbox One. I have recently had severe quality issues that are making my stream near unwatchable. I have a 140mbs download 15mbs upload speed which has been tested at multiple times of the day and this
is the average speed (Lowest experienced was 70 down 9 up).

Yet no matter what I try, even buying a gaming router to help keep the connection better (Even though iv always been wired) the quality on the actual stream is horrid to even look at.

I have consulted my ISP many times about it to which it always seems fine on their end (Apparently) and the internet speeds are always more than high enough for the quality needed.

Does anybody have any advice about how I can fix this issue? Its making me hate streaming which I really dont want to end up doing. I love streaming and my community (Who have stuck by me even with the issues!).

Low Ping Signal and Constant Lagging

Low ping = good.

The 'bar' is not ping, it's the general quality of your internet connection, and a latency timer. The higher the latency, the higher the ping, the worse the connection is, the lower the bar will go. I'd do a speed test on an internet browser to see if it's
your internet connection or not.

It all depends on your internet connection speed, if you have an alright connection speed, then it won't buffer, but if you have a rather low end connection, then it might.

Low end connection speeds are usually encouraged to rent with a low quality setting.

 

The mixer stream ideally needs to be wired. Do not use WIFI as this will impact the quality and the wifi traffic will be horrendous.

In most cases there could be a bottle neck in traffic on your router, I have always found that this is controller by the upload speed in general, even having a big upload speed can indirectly be bottle necked by your ISP.

Try using Twitch to see if the issue persists, if not then it will be a mixer issue, but if its the same, more likely a network issue, and in most cases its the upload speed being controlled by the ISP.

 

Its a long shot, but I would recommend rebooting your router and modem as I had this issue once and doing this fixed the issue. That said, if literally anything else is using bandwidth on your connection it can cause youre stream quality to drop as well,
so double check for that
