  1. Xbox one high latency

    Long one:

Hello, hopefully either u had this problem and somehow fixed it or u know how to that a few month's back in cod aw I was feeling the connection was bad, but on the 360 it was OK so I stopped play aw and went to ghost back came back a few weeks before bo3
( at the time I said it had to be something wrong with the connection on xbox one aw so I went to back bf4. Now black ops 3 came out , got it, play single player campaign, then went on to mp but the thing is that I was getting melted even if I pre fired, got
mad went to bf4 ( haven't played for a bit) but I noted that the connection for all the severs was a 4 bar ( that on bf4 since I got it was not the best, but in played through it but that day I did not think much of it because with hardline and bo3 I was thinking
must not be many people on but i found a sever and went on but I noticed that even on bf4 I was getting melted ( I had it on 360, but wanted that 64 player greatness, but the connection on the 360 was OK so I went to xbox network settings and did the xbone
live and xbone mp connection's, both was OK but I still got melted ( had me thinking was my inenternet that bad even with me being hard wired?) But then I did a detailed network statistics: DW speed 48.51 up speed 5.26 latency 99. Me: (after I did I speed
test)(which was almost the same, but with latency being ping and me have a ping of like 50. If I was to go on a tf2 sever, I could get in one and have a ping of like 30-40 and that's on my laptop being wireless. ( but went online to see if anyone else is having
the save problems( which I did see many websites full of people who did\do.All this time a was blaming cod itself which still has its on problems but the one I'm having being caused by the xbox.

    Short one:

So in short if you had or have high latency and are having and or k ow how to fix it,I need some tips to make fps's on xbone playable again.

    :)

    High Latency Xbox One

So I me and my roommates recently switched ISPs to CenturyLink (we're in Minneapolis). We're paying for 40mbps down on a fiber optic connection, so I was hoping to get something close to that.

Not only am I getting nowhere close to that down, my latency is also through the roof, consistently testing at
400+ms and never anything lower than 70ms.

My Mac, iPhone, and iPad all test similar down and up speeds, but the latency tests around the 30s or 40s most of the time, and always <100.

I have a wireless connection to the router, but the wireless strength always tests as 100%.

    Any ideas on the disparity?

  5. Well, some games have dedicated servers (Titanfall) and some don't (virtually all Call of Duty games), so that can affect latency. In addition many have different methods of handling the networking of playing online. For example, the CoD games uses something
called lag compensation, which is often what causes you to "get melted" in those games, even though it looks like you shouldn't have..

Peps, take a look around you. Our planet is HUGE aka Earth real life. Microsoft is an American company. Although they have data centres with Microsoft servers located in different locations around the world, expect some high latency. I get latency of around
187-260 (worst) and I live in a big New Zealand city and our house gets Vodafone NZ high speed fibre internet 100mb/s download 10mb/s upload speeds. Most of us don't just live down the street from a Microsoft Data Centre/Microsoft Server. I know Australia
has at least 2 data centres which houses Microsoft servers. Yet even with my ping, I can still play games on Xbox Live with my other NZ/Australian/UK/US/Canadian friends and people who speak Chinese/Japanese/French etc, and still be able to voice chat with
'em. Results from your PC are irrelevant. Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 consoles connect directly to Xbox Live servers. If you run a speed check on your computer, goodness knows what server/servers you're connecting too. Our planet is huge, we all can't get 1ms or the
measurement for measuring ping all the time.

It's 2015, and I read that The Internet does NOT travel at the speed of light. If you have ADSL, its definitely slower, fibre broadband is closer to the speed of light. It even takes 2.5 hours for an A320 plane and 777-200 plane fly from any NZ city to Melbourne/Sydney
Australia and don't get me started on how long it takes to travel by plane from one side of the world like Australia/NZ to the other like UK/US. We'd be talking hours. Thus it takes time for the data to travel from our house via our ISP to a specific server.
It depends where you live, your ISP, and how far or latency thingy, for the data to reach one of Microsoft's servers. If I can live with 187-240 ping, I'm sure you can live with a ping of 99. It's your location your ISP and Xbox Live servers. It's like in
COD BO2 on Xbox 360 when playing multiplayer zombies. When NZ/Australians host a game, UK/Americans RED-BAR, while we are green bar, and vise versa.

  7. (Sorry for grammar, using my tablet that I don't really use for this.) I know for the most part its about where u live when it comes to what type of connection your gunna have and your connection on PC and Xbox or PS u can't compare because there their on
thing ( just mad I can get a better connection on PC then on Xbox, but with everyone going to ps4, because they say aw and bo3, the connection is better on there).so for the most part your fked if you live far from there severs. But I don't know what severs
Microsoft is running for the 360, but they need to use them for xbone. And yes I can live with it, my latency is not coming to kill me but, playing games like fps where that 1sec can mean life or death, but not even having a Chance to begin with.you would at
least think that there's some way to deceased the latency like some ports or something.

Most tablets and smartphones have capacitive touchscreens, it's incredibly easy for the screen to think you wanted that input letter when you wanted and were referring to another letter. It even happens to me. They do have touch pens for tablets/phones which
are more accurate on capacitive screens, especially when small electronic devices usually have protective gorilla glass over the screen (I wish this was standard on laptops too). On average I get 200ms ping when I run a Dashboard check on Xbox 1 under settings.
Yet I can still play games and chat and message with friends in my country and across the globe fine. I'm surprised auto correct didn't recognize this when he was posting (unless it doesn't or auto correct was turned off). It's not like my English teacher
comes on here and reads posts. Allow for some leniency because Xbox is about games and having fun, watching videos and socializing with others online.

"Certified" latency, that is, what is needed to run a game correctly via XBOX, by their own words, is supposed to be at 150 milliseconds or lower.

    High Latency on xbox one

@TheHENCHMAN - When you measure your speed, between two endpoints (you as a client, against a well-known host machine), using your PC, by default, these tests are based on best ping.

Now, when you do a smilier test, using your Xbox One, the DL/UL speed along with IP connectivity test (ping), to measure the round trip time (RTT) of data, sent from one endpoint to another and then back again, is tested against a host located in Seattle,
    WA (US).

Do you understand what I'm trying to explain here?
